  • CONCLUSIONS: Prophylactic laser retinopexy in pediatric eyes was preferentially applied to lesions with greater anatomic and clinical risk but was not associated with a statistically significant reduction in retinal detachment rates compared with observation. These findings suggest that many pediatric peripheral retinal lesions may be safely managed with observation and highlight the need for pediatric-specific evidence to guide treatment decisions.

  • CONCLUSIONS: Administration of aflibercept-jbvf following three monthly bevacizumab injections was temporally associated with a statistically significant but modest very early reduction in CST at 4 weeks in this heterogeneous cohort of exudative macular diseases. Because DME, neovascular AMD-related MNV, and RVO represent biologically and clinically distinct disease entities, the pooled findings should be interpreted as descriptive cohort-level estimates within this shared treatment pathway rather than as evidence of a uniform treatment effect across these conditions. A small numerical trend toward BCVA improvement was observed, but the change was not statistically significant in either the unadjusted or GEE-adjusted analysis. Because this was a single-arm study without a comparator group, the observed anatomical change cannot be attributed specifically to aflibercept-jbvf and may partly reflect a delayed or cumulative response to prior bevacizumab, regression to the mean, or natural variability in retinal thickness. Diagnosis-specific findings were exploratory, and the 4-week endpoint does not provide information regarding durability of response or longer-term treatment burden.

  • CONCLUSIONS: These two cases suggest that cyst morphology may be one of several factors associated with postoperative ICL vault in eyes with sulcus-involved ciliary body cysts. Detailed preoperative UBM assessment of cyst structure and sulcus anatomy may be useful for individualized surgical planning and postoperative follow-up. Larger studies are warranted to determine whether specific morphologic characteristics of ciliary body cysts are associated with postoperative ICL haptic behavior and vault outcomes.

  • CONCLUSIONS: The present study observed quantifiable alterations in pretarsal eyelid skin bioimpedance indices alongside symptomatic and ocular surface improvements following functional blepharoplasty in elderly patients with dermatochalasis and concurrent refractory blepharitis. Beyond its established functional benefits for visual field restoration, the alleviation of anatomical skin redundancy may favorably alter the local eyelid microenvironment. The observed reductions in pretarsal skin lipid and moisture indices provide a preliminary basis for the hypothesis that surgical debulking could indirectly influence microbial or parasitic colonization, such as Demodex mites, and bacterial lipase activity. However, these proposed biological mechanisms remain hypothetical and require future validation through prospective studies incorporating direct microbiological and acarological quantification.

  • CONCLUSIONS: The prevalence of myopia was relatively high and surged from low-grade to high-grade levels among compulsory students in the Nanshan district. An association between the educational transition model and myopia prevalence was observed. However, this association was exploratory, because the educational transition exposure is fully confounded with school identity. Further longitudinal studies with multiple schools across diverse regions are warranted to clarify the specific mechanisms through which educational structure influences ocular health.

  • CONCLUSIONS: Contractile morning glory disc anomaly is a rare developmental optic nerve head disorder with distinctive dynamic features. Dynamic imaging provides valuable visualization of the contractile behavior of the malformed optic disc and may assist in diagnosis and risk assessment. Retinal detachment and associated vascular abnormalities may occur in these patients, although their underlying mechanisms require further investigation.
