  • DNA Adducts, Chromosomal Instability, EMT, and GSTM1 in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma. [Journal Article]
Oral Dis. 2026 Oct 22. [Online ahead of print]Kheiri SG, Ghodsi K, … Kamelan AOD
  • CONCLUSIONS: Nodal status and advanced stage were the dominant independent determinants of survival, with routine nodal assessment improving prognostic discrimination beyond stage alone. The four molecular markers tracked with disease characteristics but added no independent prognostic value, warranting replication in larger, prospective cohorts.
  • The Association Between Oral Lichen Planus and Diabetes Mellitus: A Scoping Review of the Evidence. [Review]
Oral Dis. 2026 Oct 19. [Online ahead of print]Alamoudi WOD
  • CONCLUSIONS: The OLP-DM association is consistent, biologically plausible, and extends to subclinical glycaemic dysregulation. Glycaemic assessment should be considered in patients with OLP presenting with oral or systemic features suggestive of metabolic dysregulation. Future research should prioritise longitudinal studies, intervention trials on glycaemic optimisation.
  • Differential Diagnosis Performance of ChatGPT in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. [Journal Article]
Oral Dis. 2026 Oct 19. [Online ahead of print]Shujaat S, Riaz M, … Aboalela AAOD
  • CONCLUSIONS: ChatGPT ranked the reference diagnosis first in fewer than half of cases, while broader differential lists more often included it. Images did not significantly improve accuracy, although heterogeneous and non-standardised visual inputs may have limited detection of multimodal effects. These findings support further investigation for hypothesis generation and educational use rather than clinical decision support or replacement of expert judgement and histopathological confirmation.
  • Exploring Factors Associated With Psychological Resilience in Sjögren's Disease. [Journal Article]
Oral Dis. 2026 Oct 09. [Online ahead of print]Polat Akmansoy B, Sisman Kitapci N, … Mumcu GOD
  • CONCLUSIONS: Since ocular dryness, lower salivary flow rates, physician global assessment of disease activity, and ESSPRI reflecting patient-reported symptom severity were identified as key contributors to lower levels of psychological resilience in Sjögren's disease, these measures may offer clinicians valuable guidance for tailoring more effective, patient-centered integrated multidisciplinary care strategies for patients with SjD.
