  • CONCLUSIONS: This study sheds light on the pathological changes in synovial tissue and identifies key pathways involved in PTAOA. The findings suggest novel therapeutic targets for managing PTAOA. Additionally, the PTAOA model developed in this research can be used as a preclinical model to test potential treatments.
  • Fundamentals of osteoarthritis: Biomarkers. [Review]

  • CONCLUSIONS: Three major advances have emerged: (1) molecular abnormalities can precede radiographic OA by years, reframing OA as a process of prolonged preclinical perturbation of innate immunity; (2) multi-omics approaches support molecular endotyping and precision medicine strategies; and (3) emerging proteomic biomarkers, exemplified by CRTAC1 and multi-protein panels, augment established biomarker classes and improve risk stratification. Continued validation will be essential for clinical and regulatory translation.
  • Osteoarthritis year in review 2026: Biomechanics. [Journal Article]

  • CONCLUSIONS: Over the past 12 months, evidence has strengthened links between biomechanics and symptomatic and structural osteoarthritis progression, alongside advances in real-world assessment, movement phenotyping, and personalised interventions. Large-scale and real-world biomechanical measurements are becoming increasingly feasible, and biomechanics-informed randomised controlled trials show promise for improving symptoms and slowing structural progression. Connecting scalable biomechanical assessment with clinically meaningful phenotypes and targeted interventions is a key next step toward personalised, mechanism-based osteoarthritis prevention and management.
