- Single-center experience of pneumovesicoscopic ureteral reimplantation: clinical outcomes and surgical efficacy analysis. [Journal Article]Pediatr Surg Int. 2026 Oct 28; 42(1).PS
- CONCLUSIONS: PVUR Cohen technique is a safe, effective, and reproducible minimally invasive alternative for treating VUR and UVJO. Its intravesical nature effectively preserves bladder innervation, eliminating postoperative urinary retention and ensuring superior long-term follow-up adherence compared to global real-world standards. Although bladder capacity serves as a significant predictor of operative duration, it does not compromise surgical success.

- Kangaroo mother care in neonates after surgery: a scoping review. [Review]Pediatr Surg Int. 2026 Oct 28; 42(1).PS
- CONCLUSIONS: Kangaroo mother care appears to offer several clinical benefits for neonates following surgery, although the evidence remains in an exploratory phase. Future research should prioritize standardizing intervention protocols, optimizing outcome measurement, and strengthening safety monitoring to support the structured implementation of this care practice in surgical neonatal units.

- Trends in adoption of laparoscopy for the Ladd's procedure: a multicenter analysis. [Multicenter Study]Pediatr Surg Int. 2026 Oct 28; 42(1).PS
- CONCLUSIONS: Utilization of laparoscopy for the Ladd procedure is increasing for malrotation; however, conversion rates remain high and unchanged.

- Application of transanal intestinal tube placement in ileostomy closure for post-NEC enterostomy patients: complication spectrum shift from severe to manageable minor complications. [Journal Article]Pediatr Surg Int. 2026 Oct 29; 43(1).PS
- CONCLUSIONS: TITP was associated with a shift of the complication spectrum toward milder events-from grade IIIb to grade I manageable skin complications-and faster EN recovery and shorter stay, but the anastomotic-leakage finding is underpowered and the time-period design precludes causal inference.

- Subtype-specific alterations of interstitial cells of Cajal in the proximal colon of NCX/HOX11L.1-deficient mice with intestinal neuronal dysplasia. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Ncx-deficient mice with megacolon exhibit lower tissue levels of c-KIT and ANO1 and reduced marker-positive network coverage in both ICC-IM and ICC-MY in the proximal colon. These findings support further investigation of ICC involvement in IND-associated dysmotility and the therapeutic potential of preserving or restoring ICC function.

- Differences in child opportunity index for pediatric patients who travel for subspecialty colorectal care: a pediatric colorectal and pelvic learning consortium (PCPLC) study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Travel for specialty colorectal care is concentrated among children from lower-opportunity and rural neighborhoods. Because travel distance and rural residence are closely linked, and only children reaching a center are captured, these findings are descriptive and cannot quantify unmet need.

- Human amniotic fluid stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles enhance enteric neural crest cell extension following transplantation into aganglionic mouse gut. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: hAFSC-EVs enhanced transplanted ENCC extension in aganglionic gut, accompanied by transcriptional changes in bioenergetic and proliferative pathways. These findings suggest that hAFSC-EVs may provide a strategy to enhance ENCC-based regenerative approaches for HSCR.

- Implementation of a procedural POCUS training programme for paediatric Surgeons in a resource-limited setting: a pilot feasibility study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: A pragmatic supervised training programme enabled a Bolivian paediatric surgical team with no prior formal ultrasound training to perform ultrasound-guided hydrostatic reduction without concurrent sonographer presence, providing preliminary feasibility evidence for procedural POCUS in resource-constrained paediatric surgical care.

- Adjunctive topical mitomycin C during endoscopic dilation for pediatric caustic esophageal stricture: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials. [Systematic Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: In pediatric caustic esophageal stricture, adjunctive topical MMC improves dysphagia resolution and reduces dilation burden. Multicentre RCTs with longer follow-up remain needed.

- Long-term outcomes of tracheostomy in patients with congenital diaphragmatic hernia. [Multicenter Study]
- CONCLUSIONS: Among all CDH infants, 3.0% required tracheostomy. The cumulative decannulation rate at 6 years was 36%. Pulmonary vasodilator use at discharge was more common in non-decannulated patients.

- Transfer timing is not independently associated with ECMO utilization in outborn congenital diaphragmatic hernia: a severity-adjusted analysis. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Within the transfer intervals observed, transfer time was not independently associated with ECMO utilization. These findings suggest that transport duration alone may be less informative than underlying disease characteristics in this cohort.

- Relative frequency of non-Wilms renal tumours in children: an institutional experience from a national tertiary referral centre in Malaysia. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: The substantial proportion of malignant NWRTs observed in this institutional cohort highlights potential risks of neoadjuvant chemotherapy without histological confirmation. Histopathological diagnosis via percutaneous core-needle biopsy or primary surgery may be highly considered in similar clinical settings.

- Nationwide outcomes of biliary atresia after Kasai portoenterostomy in Taiwan: the impact of postoperative cholangitis and corticosteroid use. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Postoperative cholangitis remains an important clinical factor associated with LT in infants with BA. Corticosteroid treatment duration may reflect underlying disease severity rather than therapeutic benefit. Renal complications are uncommon. Optimizing postoperative care-particularly timely cholangitis management-is essential to improve outcomes.

- Effectiveness of prenatal predictors for congenital diaphragmatic hernia on survival to discharge and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation requirement: a retrospective cohort study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: O/e LHR, liver position and the combination of these predictors, predicted survival to discharge in prenatally diagnosed left CDH with the combined model, the most predictive particularly in the isolated left CDH sub-group. Further analysis into effective predictors for ECMO requirement, and for right and complex left CDH is required.
