- Energy Cost of Walking in Adolescents With Obesity: Impact of the Degree of Obesity. [Journal Article]Pediatr Exerc Sci. 2026 Nov 01; 38(4):430-438.PE
- CONCLUSIONS: Cw in weight stable adolescents suffering from obesity seems to be mainly under the influence of the mechanical load imposed by the increase of body weight, z-score of body mass index, fat-free mass, and FM in kilograms, while the effects of the percentage of FM appears to be less clear and remains to be further explored.

- Associations of Accumulating Physical Activity and Sedentary Time From Childhood to Adolescence With Arterial Stiffness and Structure in Adolescence-An 8-Year Follow-Up Study. [Journal Article]Pediatr Exerc Sci. 2026 Nov 01; 38(4):412-420.PE
- CONCLUSIONS: In girls, higher PA, especially moderate to vigorous PA, may slow arterial stiffening, whereas boys may already be physically active beyond levels that yield further benefits.

- Bioimpedance-Derived Hydration and Body Composition Shifts Across Ramadan in Competitive Swimmers Aged 6-20 Years: A Prospective Cohort Study. [Journal Article]Pediatr Exerc Sci. 2026 Nov 01; 38(4):454-461.PE
- Ramadan fasting can alter hydration, sleep, and training schedules in competitive swimmers aged 6-20 years, but evidence in swimmers is limited. This prospective cohort study investigated within-participant changes in bioelectrical impedance analysis and body composition across Ramadan in swimmers. Swimmers were assessed at 3 time points: approximately 7 days before the first day of Ramadan, duri…

- CONCLUSIONS: Our data show that HIIT is an effective strategy for improving cardiometabolic health in children and adolescents with overweight/obesity as it significantly reduces blood lipids and improves body composition, glycemic control, and cardiorespiratory fitness, with this effect often surpassing that of traditional moderate-intensity continuous training protocols. Further studies should identify optimal HIIT protocols and explore long-term benefits to develop clinical guidelines.

- CONCLUSIONS: Reduced activity likely caused the 2020 fracture decline. Although causation cannot be definitively established from National Electronic Injury Surveillance System data alone, this correlation may reflect reduced participation in 2020 and subsequent changes in training, conditioning, gameplay intensity, and possibly equipment quality upon return to sport.
