  • CONCLUSIONS: Orco is required for mating-related behavioral responsiveness in C. maculatus, and disruption of this conserved gene produces population-dependent phenotypic effects. These findings demonstrate that conserved olfactory components can generate variable behavioral and physiological outcomes across populations, highlighting the importance of considering population-level variation when interpreting gene function. © 2026 Society of Chemical Industry.
  • Landscape-mediated interactive effects of conservation and augmentative biological control in organic agroecosystems. [Journal Article]

  • CONCLUSIONS: We suggest that more heterogeneous landscapes promote coexistence among residents and introduced enemies, mediating additive effects between conservation and augmentative biological control. The results also suggest an edge-mediated resource-complementation mechanism, in which intricate interfaces between crops and native vegetation enhance the spatial integration of both habitats, thereby improving parasitoid retention and performance. These findings underscore the importance of explicitly incorporating landscape context, particularly configuration, into augmentative biological control programs to maximize their effectiveness and long-term sustainability. © 2026 Society of Chemical Industry.

  • CONCLUSIONS: Our results suggest that horizontal transfer can fail at high concentrations and that effective suppression of colony workers may be achievable at much lower fipronil rates, potentially also reducing unintended environmental impacts. It shows substantial potential for the sustainable management of P. xylostella and may serve as a crucial tool for managing insecticide resistance in agricultural pest populations. © 2026 Society of Chemical Industry.
