  • A liquid fiducial marker for image-guided proton beam therapy of abdominal tumors. [Journal Article]
Phys Med. 2026 Oct 21; 151:107203. [Online ahead of print]Stefanowicz S, Henriksen JR, … Troost EGCPM
  • CONCLUSIONS: The liquid fiducial marker demonstrated comparable visibility and chemical stability with reduced artifact generation and dose perturbation compared to solid markers, indicating superiority for IGPT of abdominal tumors. Optimization of the liquid marker composition may be considered.
  • Volume-based quantitative assessment of respiratory-induced organ motion in lung cancers. [Journal Article]
    Phys Med. 2026 Oct; 150:107210.Ma Y, Kang M, … Cheng CPM
  • CONCLUSIONS: This approach enables comprehensive quantification of respiratory motion, supporting optimized motion management in lung cancer radiotherapy. As conventional metrics fail to capture organ deformation, integrating both motion and deformation assessments is essential for accurately characterizing respiratory-induced target variations.
  • Simulation-embedded MLEM reconstruction using SIMIND for quantitative myocardial SPECT. [Journal Article]
    Phys Med. 2026 Oct; 150:107204.Shirakawa S, Fujita S, … Tsujimoto MPM
  • CONCLUSIONS: Simulation-embedded reconstruction enabled integrated physical modeling within iterative reconstruction and improved the agreement with ideal reference images under controlled phantom-based conditions. These findings supported the technical feasibility and basic validity of acquisition-consistent Monte Carlo-embedded reconstruction for myocardial SPECT and provided a basis for further evaluation under more realistic and clinical conditions.
  • Optimization of a β probe for [18]F radio-guided surgery. [Journal Article]
    Phys Med. 2026 Oct; 150:107183.Mirabelli R, Morganti S, … Collamati FPM
  • CONCLUSIONS: A p-terphenyl scintillator thickness of 0.6 mm offers the best trade-off between β sensitivity and γ rejection for β-guided surgery applications with [[18]F]FDG. This study completes the experimental optimization of the β-probe for low-energy positron emitters and provides a solid basis for future in-vivo validation.
