  • Toll-like receptor 2/1 (TLR2/1) heterodimers detect triacylated lipoproteins. Although TLR2/1 complexes localize to both the plasma membrane and endosome, the functional contributions of compartment-specific signaling are not completely defined. A common human TLR1 polymorphism (rs5743618), at which one allele substitutes isoleucine for serine adjacent to the transmembrane domain, restricts TLR1 …
  • Characterization of the dual functions of Leishmania CK1.2 in both the parasite and the macrophage. [Journal Article]
    PLoS One. 2026; 21(10):e0356818.Martel D, Leclercq O, … Rachidi NPlos
  • Leishmania CK1.2 (L-CK1.2) is a serine/threonine protein kinase essential for the survival of the protozoan parasite Leishmania, the causative agent of leishmaniasis. This study investigates the dynamic localization pattern of L-CK1.2 and the broad spectrum of its interacting partners within the parasite. Using proteomic analysis and confocal microscopy, we identified 230 L-CK1.2-associated prote…
  • Infant mortality rate and time to death determinants in East Africa: A Bayesian spatial frailty analysis of DHS data (2015-2022). [Journal Article]
PLoS One. 2026; 21(10):e0357712.Tsegaw TK, Eristu R, Angaw DAPlos
  • CONCLUSIONS: The pooled IMR was higher than the global estimate of IMR. Infant mortality was associated with maternal, infant, and reproductive factors. In addition, high spatial frailty was observed in some areas, suggesting the presence of unmeasured regional factors related to geographic location. These findings call attention to the need for policies that focus on strengthening antenatal care coverage, promoting early initiation of breastfeeding, improving maternal socioeconomic empowerment, and prioritizing high-frailty areas through resource allocation to reduce infant mortality.
  • Exploring the key genes of colorectal "adenoma-cancer" based on graph transformer. [Journal Article]
    PLoS One. 2026; 21(10):e0359785.Yuan Y, Liu Y, … Ren ZPlos
  • Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most lethal malignancies worldwide, and the precise identification of biomarkers from colonic adenoma to cancer is of great significance for preventing the development of adenocarcinoma. Given that existing methods inadequately capture the topological network relationships among genes, this study proposes a graph neural network model based on multifeature lea…
