- Are the EQ-5D-5L and EQ-HWB-9 valid instruments for measuring informal carer outcomes for use in economic evaluations? [Journal Article]Qual Life Res. 2026 Oct 15; 35(11).QL
- CONCLUSIONS: This study provides evidence supporting the acceptability and construct validity of the EQ-5D-5L and EQ-HWB-9 in measuring informal carer outcomes for use in economic evaluations. Responsiveness evidence remains limited and warrants further research.

- Dyadic death-preparedness concordance states and bereaved caregivers' health-related quality of life and psychological outcomes: a longitudinal study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Bereavement outcomes showed differing patterns across dyadic death-preparedness concordance states. Adjusted estimates for the sparsely represented unprepared- and emotional-concordant groups are exploratory and hypothesis-generating. These findings highlight the value of examining cognitive and emotional dimensions of dyadic death preparedness jointly while underscoring the need for replication in larger samples.

- Multimorbidity profiles and global quality of life: a population-based latent class and structural equation modeling study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Global QoL was associated with graded health-functional burden and socioeconomic position. Combining person-centered health profiles with a hierarchical representation of QoL may provide a useful framework for characterizing population heterogeneity in health, functioning, and subjective quality of life.

- EORTC QLQ-C30 symptom components and their functional correlates during adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer: a multivariate analysis. Data from GEICAM/2003-02 study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Symptom changes during chemotherapy are not independent, but follow a multivariate structured pattern in which a general symptom burden, anchored by fatigue, plays a central role in functional decline. These findings suggest that multivariate approaches may provide a complementary exploratory framework for summarizing correlated patterns of treatment-related burden and generating hypotheses regarding PROs. Trial registration number ClinTrials.gov: GEICAM/2003-02: NCT00129389.

- Quality of life in patients with epilepsy in the context of socioeconomic challenges in Lebanon. [Multicenter Study]
- CONCLUSIONS: Adults with epilepsy in Lebanon experience substantial QoL impairment across epilepsy-specific, generic, and capability-based domains, associated with treatment burden, socioeconomic vulnerability, and crisis-related barriers to care. Integrated strategies addressing medication tolerability, adherence, health literacy, and structural determinants of health are needed to improve outcomes in this population.

- Impact of child loss on parents' health-related quality of life: evidence from the china health and retirement longitudinal study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: These findings suggest that child loss has a persistent and graded negative association with HRQoL, with important variation by timing and gender. The results highlight the need for targeted support and interventions to mitigate long-term health consequences among bereaved older adults.

- Psychometric evaluation of the Disability Wellbeing Index (DWI) against the Adult Social Care Outcomes Toolkit (ASCOT) among people with disability. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: The findings support the construct validity of DWI. DWI and ASCOT focus on different but overlapping aspects. The DWI places a stronger emphasis on general wellbeing, while the ASCOT focuses on social care related quality of life.

- Factors independently associated with in-hospital HRQoL in adults treated at a high-complexity institution in a middle-income country. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: EQ VAS scores measured during hospitalization were independently associated with sociodemographic and clinical factors, underscoring the multifactorial determinants of self-rated health in acute hospital settings.

- Mapping EORTC-QLQ-C30 scores to EQ-5D-5L utility values for gynecological cancer survivors in follow-up care. [Multicenter Study]
- CONCLUSIONS: The algorithm enables estimation of EQ-5D-5L utilities from EORTC-QLQ-C30 scores in populations with severity profiles similar to the LETSGO cohort. Accuracy is reduced in poor health states.

- Establishing meaningful score differences for the observer-reported communication ability (ORCA) measure using the scale judgment approach with caregivers of individuals with Angelman syndrome. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Caregivers consistently endorsed small score changes as meaningful, suggesting that small treatment effects carry real significance for families. Accounting for variability across contexts and subgroups, we recommend an MSD of 2.0 to 3.5 T-score points on the ORCA measure for individuals with AS, bounded below by the smallest score difference presented to caregivers during the scale judgment task and above by the largest subgroup estimate.

- Longitudinal impact of sodium bicarbonate therapy on health-related quality of life in pre-dialysis chronic kidney disease with metabolic acidosis: a pragmatic trial in Malaysia. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Sodium bicarbonate therapy did not improve HRQoL in pre-dialysis CKD patients with MA. Patient-reported well-being appeared to be driven by CKD progression, highlighting the practical challenges and limitations of treat-to-target alkali therapy in routine clinical practice.

- Measurement invariance of the Pediatric Quality of life index in a child and adolescent mental health population. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: PedsQL domain scores demonstrate evidence of structural validity and preliminary evidence of measurement invariance across the CAMHS subgroups evaluated. This provides support for the use of PedsQL scores in CAMHS.

- Adaptation and initial psychometric validation of the Latvian version of EORTC QLQ-C30 and QLQ-BR45 in women with breast cancer. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: The Latvian EORTC QLQ-C30 and QLQ-BR45 showed acceptable preliminary psychometric performance. The findings provide initial support for their use to assess HRQoL and breast cancer-specific symptoms in Latvia, while larger multicentre and longitudinal studies are needed to evaluate additional measurement properties and responsiveness.

- Determining what matters most to patients: qualitative interview techniques and methodological considerations for concept saliency analysis and reporting. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Structured interview tasks enhance the rigor and relevance of qualitative research in COA development. By standardizing terminology and analysis approaches, researchers can more accurately identify and prioritize concepts that matter most to patients. This ensures that measurement strategies in clinical trials and real-world studies are truly patient-centered.

- Treatment burden, healthcare experiences, and health-related quality of life among youth with chronic kidney disease treated for hypertension. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Youth with CKD and hypertension reported generally positive healthcare experiences, and antihypertensive medication use, one component of treatment burden, showed minimal association with HRQoL. Despite modest effects, continued attention to HRQoL remains an important aspect of care for youth with CKD and hypertension.
