  • Long-Term Performance and Bulk-Isotope Effects in Methane Clumped-Isotope Measurements Using a 253 Ultra HR-IRMS. [Journal Article]
    Rapid Commun Mass Spectrom. 2027 Jan 15; 41(1).Zhang N, Gilbert A, … Yoshida NRC
  • CONCLUSIONS: The calibration framework established for methane clumped-isotope measurements with the Science Tokyo 253 Ultra HR-IRMS remained stable and applicable over multiple analytical campaigns. Validation measurements and interlaboratory comparisons demonstrated consistent results across a broad range of methane bulk-isotope compositions, without the need for campaign-specific or additional bulk-isotope-dependent corrections, with δD values extending down to -335‰.
  • Effects of Pretreatment on the Isotopic Composition of Structural Carbonate in Ray-Finned Fish Teeth. [Journal Article]
    Rapid Commun Mass Spectrom. 2027 Jan 15; 41(1).Furuya T, Yokouchi K, … Shirai KRC
  • CONCLUSIONS: Treatments with neutral or alkaline pancreatin solutions are recommended for the analysis of δ[13]C in carbonate within dentin. Although no method for ideal organic matter removal without changing δ[18]O values was identified, treatment with neutral pancreatin solution is recommended as the second-best option. Because of the small and consistent change in δ[18]O, it is possible to correct for δ[18]O alterations induced by pretreatment.
  • Unbalanced Driving Voltages in a Quadrupole Mass Filter. [Journal Article]
Rapid Commun Mass Spectrom. 2026 Dec 30; 40(24):e70196.Bugrov PV, Sysoev AA, … Konenkov NVRC
  • In the development of quadrupole mass spectrometers, there is a growing interest in understanding the modified first stability region under conditions of unbalanced DC and RF voltages.
  • Influence of Geometrical Asymmetry on the Performance of a Digitally Driven Quadrupole Mass Filter. [Journal Article]
    Rapid Commun Mass Spectrom. 2026 Dec 15; 40(23):e70190.Taraphdar B, Jana S, … Deb NRC
  • CONCLUSIONS: Geometrical asymmetry systematically degrades the performance of digitally driven quadrupole mass filters, while the initial pulse state introduces an additional operational parameter that influences transmission and resolving power. These findings establish practical constraints on maintaining symmetry in both rod geometry and spatial positioning, as well as on synchronizing ion injection with the driving RF pulse, and provide new insight into the interplay between higher order multipole fields and digital QMF operation.
