- Gonadotrophin releasing hormone agonist-aromatase inhibitor pretreatment before frozen embryo transfer in patients with endometriosis, adenomyosis, or both. [Journal Article]Reprod Biomed Online. 2026 Sep 21; 53(6):105982. [Online ahead of print]RB
- CONCLUSIONS: GnRH agonist-aromatase inhibitor pretreatment was associated with significantly higher live birth odds among individuals with endometriosis, adenomyosis, or both, undergoing FET after one or more previously failed conventional cycles. Prospective studies are needed to confirm efficacy and define ideal candidates for this protocol.

- Ultrasound endometrial repair score correlates with histological repair and fertility outcomes in rat intrauterine adhesions. [Journal Article]Reprod Biomed Online. 2026 Sep 29; 54(1):105981. [Online ahead of print]RB
- CONCLUSIONS: ERS-US reliably reflects histological repair and is positively correlated with reproductive outcomes. Both UC-MSCs and UC-MSC-Exos improved endometrial repair, and UC-MSC-Exos were non-inferior to UC-MSCs, supporting their feasibility as a cell-free alternative.

- Methodological heterogeneity as a confounding variable in reported trends in human sperm parameters: a critical reappraisal. [Journal Article]Reprod Biomed Online. 2026 Sep 16; 53(6):105975. [Online ahead of print]RB
- The proposition that human sperm quality is in secular decline has achieved near-recognized status in reproductive medicine, driven largely by high-profile meta-analyses and certain individual studies reporting downward trends in sperm concentration and total motile count over recent decades. This paper argues that the evidentiary foundation for this conclusion is substantially weaker than its pr…

- Synergies between time-lapse imaging and PGT to optimize laboratory workflow and clinical outcomes. [Review]Reprod Biomed Online. 2026 Sep 03; 53(6):105956. [Online ahead of print]RB
- Embryo selection is a key determinant of success in assisted reproductive technology (ART). Among recent advancements, time-lapse imaging (TLI) and preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) have emerged as valuable tools for improving embryo assessment. TLI enables continuous, non-invasive observation of embryo development, providing detailed morphokinetic signatures that, when validated, can aid in …

- Patient perception versus calculated live birth probability following oocyte cryopreservation. [Journal Article]Reprod Biomed Online. 2026 Sep 15; 53(6):105970. [Online ahead of print]RB
- CONCLUSIONS: Patient perceptions of the probability of live birth after oocyte cryopreservation may not align with evidence-based estimates. These findings highlight the need for improved counselling strategies to support accurate understanding and informed decision-making.

- Successful introduction of a one-step blastocyst warming protocol: a UK multicentre large cohort comparison. [Journal Article]Reprod Biomed Online. 2026 Sep 28; 53(6):105968. [Online ahead of print]RB
- CONCLUSIONS: One-step warming protocols improve blastocyst survival rates with no effect on clinical outcomes. Standard warming takes about 10 times longer per embryo than the OSW protocol, which enables clinics to significantly improve laboratory efficiency and resource management without compromising patient care.

- Overnight hypothermic transportation of ovarian tissue prior to cryopreservation in a centralized cryobank of the FertiPROTEKT network. [Journal Article]Reprod Biomed Online. 2026 Sep 16; 53(6):105977. [Online ahead of print]RB
- CONCLUSIONS: ONT of ovarian tissue appears feasible in routine practice. No significant differences were detected between study cohorts, although the study is underpowered to exclude clinically meaningful differences. Standardized transport protocols may support centralized cryobanking within fertility preservation networks, expanding access where on-site cryopreservation of ovarian tissue is unavailable.

- Relationship between trophectoderm re-biopsy and serum beta-HCG levels in early pregnancies. [Journal Article]Reprod Biomed Online. 2026 Sep 12; 53(6):105974. [Online ahead of print]RB
- CONCLUSIONS: Trophectoderm re-biopsy was associated with significantly lower β-HCG in early pregnancies resulting in live births without corresponding differences in perinatal outcomes. These findings suggest that β-HCG levels after re-biopsied FET may require contextual interpretation, as lower levels do not necessarily reflect a compromised prognosis.

- What happens to cryopreserved embryos after couples separate? First UK cohort study on disposition decisions. [Journal Article]Reprod Biomed Online. 2026 Sep 18; 53(6):105976. [Online ahead of print]RB
- CONCLUSIONS: When couples separate, cryopreserved embryos often become sources of conflict. To date, no UK-based studies have examined embryo disposition specifically following relationship breakdown. This is the first study in this specific cohort of patients, reflecting a strong preference for embryo disposal rather than donation. Disposition decisions often reflected the emotional complexity of separation and, in some cases, raised ethical issues related to donor gametes.

- Sperm mitochondrial DNA copy number exhibits higher longitudinal consistency than conventional semen parameters in a clinical cohort. [Journal Article]Reprod Biomed Online. 2026 Sep 13; 53(6):105972. [Online ahead of print]RB
- CONCLUSIONS: Sperm mtDNAcn had greater temporal stability than conventional semen parameters, suggesting it may be less susceptible to short-term ejaculate variability and supporting further investigation of its potential utility as a biomarker of male reproductive health.

- CONCLUSIONS: Children conceived via ART procedures do not show an overall increase in DNM burden compared with naturally conceived children. Exploratory subgroup differences by fertilization and transfer strategy were observed; however, these findings require independent replication and should be interpreted with caution. Further studies are warranted to confirm these observations and to investigate potential mechanisms.

- CONCLUSIONS: In women with a low ovarian reserve, short-stimulation cycles can yield euploid embryos. However, in the adjusted analysis, the likelihood of obtaining at least one euploid embryo is reduced significantly compared with normal-stimulation cycles.

- The 2025 International Glossary on Infertility and Fertility Care defines pregnancy as 'a state of reproduction beginning with implantation of an embryo and ending with the complete expulsion and/or extraction of the products of implantation'. This implantation-based definition is clinically useful, particularly for assisted reproductive technology ART, registries and outcome reporting. However, …
