- Cognitive Trajectories over 13 Years in Schizophrenia Spectrum Disorders: Addressing Selective Dropout Bias. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Although cognitive performance of patients was lower than that of controls at study start, their change in performance over 13 years did not differ from the controls. Patients who dropped out were more cognitively impaired, highlighting risk of attrition bias. The robustness of findings across weighted and unweighted analyses strengthens confidence in the observed trajectories.

- Short-Term Cognitive Dynamic Trajectories Comparisons in Early Psychosis. [Journal Article]Schizophr Bull. 2026 Oct 27; 52(6).SB
- CONCLUSIONS: Cognitive dynamic trajectories are stage-specific across the early psychosis continuum, with CHR exhibiting greater cognitive malleability. Processing speed and visuospatial memory emerge as phase-specific markers of psychosis conversion in CHR, distinct from FES-related social cognitive changes. These findings may refine early psychosis risk stratification and cognitive monitoring protocols.

- Extra-Synaptic Functions of NRG1 Type I Signaling in Hippocampal γ-Oscillations. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Together, these findings suggest a model in which early-onset extra-synaptic NRG1 type I accumulation at ER-PM junctions causes sustained changes in neuronal excitability, ultimately contributing to deficits in neuronal network oscillations as observed in various neuropsychiatric disorders.

- Propensity Score Matching Unmasks Core Predictors of Psychosis Conversion in Clinical High-Risk Individuals. [Journal Article]Schizophr Bull. 2026 Oct 27; 52(6).SB
- CONCLUSIONS: Systematic control of cognitive and demographic confounding via PSM clarifies the true prognostic value of clinical and functional markers for CHR-P conversion. The findings provide actionable tools for risk stratification and highlight the critical need to account for cognitive function in early psychosis prediction research.

- Identifying Neurophysiological Subtypes in Clinical High Risk for Psychosis Using Functional Connectome Profiling. [Multicenter Study]Schizophr Bull. 2026 Oct 27; 52(6).SB
- CONCLUSIONS: These findings provide robust evidence for neurophysiological subtypes among individuals at CHR and further suggest that patterns of aberrant brain network organization have already diverged during the CHR stage, accompanied by dissociable cognitive profiles.

- Association between Multimorbidity and Suicidal Behaviors among People with Psychotic Disorders. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Results confirmed an association between multimorbidity and higher rates of suicidal behaviors among our sample, supporting the importance of interventions to prevent the development of chronic conditions.

- Neuroanatomical Subtypes of Schizophrenia Reveal Divergent Atrophy Trajectories and Distinct Associations with Long-Term Clozapine Use. [Journal Article]Schizophr Bull. 2026 Oct 27; 52(6).SB
- CONCLUSIONS: We identified two neuroanatomical subtypes of schizophrenia showing divergent brain atrophy over 6-years. The subtypes may represent biologically distinct forms of schizophrenia, as they show different medication profiles and associations with molecular signatures. Our results provide a candidate framework for parsing disease heterogeneity and may offer insights for future stratified treatment strategies.

- Efficacy of Personalizing Cognitive Remediation for Schizophrenia by Targeting Impairments in Early Auditory Processing. [Randomized Controlled Trial]Schizophr Bull. 2026 Oct 27; 52(6).SB
- CONCLUSIONS: These findings support the value of CR for people with schizophrenia, demonstrate that EAP deficits are malleable, and that cognitive and functional gains can occur for EAP impaired patients, regardless of whether EAP training is provided.

- Clozapine Augmentation Strategies and Clinical Predictors of Prolonged Tertiary Hospitalization in Clozapine-Resistant Schizophrenia: a Retrospective Cohort Study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: D2/3R selective antagonism was the most resource-efficient strategy, while ECT produced greater improvement in positive symptoms. Incorporating baseline psychosis severity and functioning into measurement-based care may support more informed augmentation selection.

- C-Reactive Protein Levels and Elevations in Schizophrenia: The Central Role of Body Mass Index. [Journal Article]Schizophr Bull. 2026 Oct 27; 52(6).SB
- CONCLUSIONS: CRP elevation in schizophrenia is substantially attenuated by BMI adjustment but remains significantly different from unaffected controls across continuous and binary outcomes in fully adjusted models. BMI and other relevant covariates should be incorporated into schizophrenia studies employing CRP as an inflammatory indicator.

- Risk Indicator Aggregation and Cluster Stability Across Developmental Domains from Early to Middle Childhood in Children at Familial High-Risk of Schizophrenia or Bipolar Disorder and Population-Based Controls. [Journal Article]Schizophr Bull. 2026 Oct 27; 52(6).SB
- CONCLUSIONS: Our findings of partially stable clusters with differential risk profiles for later onset of psychotic disorders evidence the need to consider risk heterogeneity in preventive interventions targeting offspring at FHR-SZ or FHR-BP, since some children have profiles with serious impairments across multiple domains while others have profiles with few or no impairments and therefore may be more resilient.

- Long-Term Course of Loneliness in Psychotic Disorders. [Journal Article]Schizophr Bull. 2026 Oct 27; 52(6).SB
- CONCLUSIONS: We found that subjective loneliness was most prevalent early in the illness course among individuals with psychosis, and that individuals with more severe psychotic disorder were lonelier. These associations persisted over years and were not affected by symptom waxing and waning.
