  • Mouse models to study von Willebrand Factor in hemostasis: a scoping review. [Journal Article]
Thromb Haemost. 2026 Aug 19. [Online ahead of print]DeYoung V, Masood H, … Kretz CTH
  • CONCLUSIONS: This review highlights that most studies assessing VWF-related hemostasis use a single model, but there is methodological variability, limiting reproducibility and translational relevance. Standardized protocols and collaborative efforts to establish consensus guidelines are urgently needed to improve cross-study comparisons to strengthen preclinical therapeutic testing.
  • Clinical Validation of a Point-of-Care Whole Blood Coagulometer in Patients on Factor Xa Inhibitors. [Clinical Trial]
Thromb Haemost. 2026 Aug 14. [Online ahead of print]Bakhru S, Connors J, … Ansell JTH
  • Currently, no sensitive, widely available, rapid turnaround assays to measure the effect on coagulation of direct oral anticoagulants exist. The point-of-care ClotChek (Perosphere Technologies Inc.) coagulometer was developed to address this unmet need with high sensitivity and precision. This proof-of-concept study aimed to determine normal clotting time in healthy, non-anticoagulated subjects; s…
  • Rotem Platelet Component (A5 Platelet) as a Rapid Marker of Thrombocytopenia after Severe Trauma. [Journal Article]
Thromb Haemost. 2026 Aug 04. [Online ahead of print]David JS, Sibille L, … Dargaud YTH
  • Thrombocytopenia contributes to trauma-induced coagulopathy and may require platelet transfusion. Viscoelastic assays can provide rapid surrogates of platelet count, but thresholds may be influenced by physiological derangements. We compared ROTEM-derived parameters for diagnosing thrombocytopenia and tested their robustness across selected conditions. We performed a retrospective registry-based c…
  • Bruton Tyrosine Kinase as Therapeutic Target in Cardiovascular Diseases-Executive Summary. [Journal Article]
Thromb Haemost. 2026 Jul 08. [Online ahead of print]von Hundelshausen P, Siess W, Weber CTH
  • Bruton tyrosine kinase (Btk) is an intracellular enzyme belonging to the Tec family tyrosine kinases. Initially identified for its role in B cell signaling, it has now emerged as a pivotal mediator in thrombosis and cardiovascular diseases (CVD). Beyond its established role in B cell malignancies, Btk is expressed in platelets, macrophages, neutrophils, and other innate immune cells, orchestratin…
