- Impact of parity and delivery type on pelvic floor muscle strength: a cross-sectional study in healthy continent women. [Journal Article]BMC Urol. 2026 Jul 31; 26(1).BU
- CONCLUSIONS: The current study showed no significant association between PFMS and parity or type of childbirth in healthy, continent women. A future longitudinal study design should control for factors related to the teams and centers involved in delivering assistance, including pre- and post-delivery imaging evaluations.

- Perioperative tranexamic acid and postoperative haematuria after transvesical prostatectomy: a prospective observational cohort study. [Journal Article]BMC Urol. 2026 Jul 31; 26(1).BU
- CONCLUSIONS: TXA exposure was associated with lower observed postoperative haematuria in unadjusted analysis, but this association did not persist after adjustment. TXA was not associated with significant reductions in quantified perioperative blood loss or blood product transfusion. These findings are exploratory and require confirmation in adequately powered randomised studies.

- Mirabegron for accelerating passage of 6-10 mm distal ureteral stones after extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy: a retrospective cohort study. [Journal Article]BMC Urol. 2026 Jul 29; 26(1).BU
- CONCLUSIONS: Mirabegron use was associated with earlier stone fragment clearance and better relief of renal colic and irritative urinary symptoms after ESWL compared with tamsulosin, whereas the final 4-week stone-free rates were similar. These findings require confirmation in prospective randomized studies.

- Declining Medicare Participation, Patient Volume, and Reimbursement Among Urologists in Ohio: Implications for Access to Care. [Journal Article]Urology. 2026 Oct 27. [Online ahead of print]U
- CONCLUSIONS: Traditional fee-for-service Medicare participation, beneficiary volume, and inflation-adjusted reimbursement declined among Ohio urologists from 2019 to 2023. Growth in Medicare Advantage may contribute to observed declines in the traditional fee-for-service panel and cannot be distinguished using these data. Concurrent declines in inflation-adjusted payment per service nevertheless demonstrate real reimbursement compression within traditional Medicare.

- Reimagining postoperative recovery: evaluating an accelerated discharge pathway following robotic radical prostatectomy. [Journal Article]Urology. 2026 Oct 27. [Online ahead of print]U
- CONCLUSIONS: Same-day discharge to the Care Hotel following RARP was associated with low readmission, ED utilization, and complication rates. These findings support the Care Hotel as a safe alternative to inpatient admission that may optimize postoperative care and resource utilization.

- Impact of a Pre-Visit Reminder Program on Outpatient Uroflowmetry Test Validity: A Retrospective Chart Review. [Journal Article]Urology. 2026 Oct 27. [Online ahead of print]U
- CONCLUSIONS: Pre-visit reminders were associated with improved uroflowmetry test validity, mean VV, and Qmax, regardless of modality or receipt confirmation. These findings support text-based reminders as a scalable, low-cost strategy for outpatient urology practice.

- Gonadectomy Practices in a Multidisciplinary Differences of Sex Development Clinic Support a Risk-Stratified Approach. [Journal Article]Urology. 2026 Oct 27. [Online ahead of print]U
- CONCLUSIONS: Gonadectomy frequency and age at surgery differed by tumor risk category, with higher-risk patients with DSD undergoing gonadectomy more often and younger. Across study years, there was no significant change in the proportion undergoing gonadectomy or in age at surgery. These findings support risk-stratified gonadal management, including deferring gonadectomy until after puberty in CAIS, and emphasizing discussion rather than default removal in TS+Y. Gonadectomy remains important for high-risk DSD diagnoses, particularly CGD.

- Assessing Patient Perspectives in Seeking Radical Cystectomy Care: A Qualitative Analysis. [Journal Article]Urology. 2026 Oct 27. [Online ahead of print]U
- CONCLUSIONS: Bladder cancer patients cited the content and quality of communication with their healthcare team and logistics of traveling to a treating center as key considerations in determining where to undergo RC. Future interventions aimed at improving access to RC should focus on decreasing communication barriers and alleviating the burden of frequent travel.

- Global patterns and trends in testicular cancer incidence and mortality: A population-based ecological study. [Journal Article]Urology. 2026 Oct 27. [Online ahead of print]U
- CONCLUSIONS: TC incidence remains concentrated in highly developed regions, but mortality and future burden increasingly reflect inequalities in cancer-care delivery. Strengthening early diagnosis, treatment access, and specialized oncology infrastructure in emerging high-burden regions is needed.

- Predictive value of the combined use of PHID and ADC parameters for prostate biopsy decision-making in PI-RADS 3 lesions. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: The combined use of PHID and ADC parameters improves PCa and csPCa detection in patients with PI-RADS 3 lesions. ADC parameters in suspicious PI-RADS 3 lesions of the peripheral zone demonstrate superior diagnostic value. PHID and ADC parameters are independent predictors of csPCa even after multivariable adjustment.
