Pseudotumor cerebri is defined and the general pathology added where the idiopathic intracranial hypertension syndrom can be found. The paper reviews the consequences that the increase in cerebral spinal liquid (CSL) pressure has on the visual function. The symptomatology is polymorphous, hard to frame and much more difficult to cure, the diagnosis being one of exclusion.
