| | Abstract | The main complications of cirrhosis are gastrointestinal bleeding related to portal hypertension, ascites, spontaneous peritonitis, hepato-renal syndrome, encephalopathy and hepatocellular carcinoma. The apparition of these complications constitutes a major event for the patient.
