Pockets of high endemicity still remain in some areas of Africa, India, and Brazil. One of the joint manifestations of leprosy are the signs of Charcot's disease. Charcot's disease of leprosy advanced in spite of the treatment. The different clinical types are sometimes a problem in diagnosis.
