Bacteremia and Infective Endocarditis Caused by Daptomycin-non-susceptible, Vancomycin-Intermediate, and Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Taiwan. [JOURNAL ARTICLE]
J Clin Microbiol 2008 Jan 16.

We describe the development of non-susceptibility to daptomycin and vancomycin during treatment for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) bacteremia associated with infective endocarditis and probable septic thrombophlebitis in a uremic patient. MRSA bacteremia persisted during glycopeptides and subsequent daptomycin treatment but cleared after five days' treatment with linezolid and fusidic acid.
