AbstractPrimary lymphomas of mucosa associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) are exceedingly rare. We report the case of a 51 year old female diagnosed with primary MALT lymphoma of the gallbladder after cholecystectomy. Further staging workup was negative for metastatic disease. When the disease is localized to the gallbladder, primary MALT lymphomas of the gallbladder carry an excellent prognosis, and surgical resection is curative in the majority of cases.
