OBJECTIVE: The aim of this article was to provide a synthesis and critical appraisal of economic evaluations of the management of respiratory tract infections with moxifloxacin. METHODS: Studies were included if they assessed the costs and consequences of moxifloxacin as compared with an alternative antimicrobial in the management of community-acquired pneumonia, acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis or acute bacterial sinusitis. RESULTS/ CONCLUSIONS: Treatment of community-acquired pneumonia, acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis or acute bacterial sinusitis with moxifloxacin is equally or more effective and less expensive than treatment with other antimicrobials. | | Language | eng | | Pub Type(s) | Journal Article Research Support, Non-U.S. Gov't
