Thrombocytopenia is associated with this syndrome and is thought to represent platelet destruction within the lesions. The natural history is one of multiple, life-threatening episodes of GI bleeding. We report the successful use of bevacizumab in this disease, an antibody to the vascular endothelial growth factor.
