AbstractThis case study reports the effects of a treprostinil accidental overdose in a patient with pulmonary hypertension. Treprostinil is labeled for treatment of pulmonary hypertension with New York Heart Association (NYHA) Class II, III and IV symptoms. It is characterized as a long-acting prostacyclin analog that can be delivered by intravenous or subcutaneous continuous infusions. This pediatric case report describes a massive overdose without significant side effects, thus suggesting a beneficial therapeutic index in pediatric patients.
