(1) There are four basic tastes: sweet, sour, bitter and salty. Quantitative taste disorders correspond to a more or less pronounced inability to identify one or several of these basic tastes. Qualitative disorders correspond to altered perception; (2) Taste disorders can be due to a variety of causes, including a vast number of drugs.
