The sequence comparison of the D1/D2 large subunit rRNA gene revealed that this yeast represented a novel species from the genus Geotrichum which involves anamorphs of the ascogenous genus Galactomyces. Geotrichum bryndzae sp. nov. is most closely related to Geotrichum silvicola(NRRL Y-27641T, CBS9194T AY158042) although yeasts with identical or very similar sequences have been found throughout the world. The type culture of Geotrichum bryndzae is CCY 16-2-1 (NRRL Y-48450T, CBS 11176). | | Language | ENG | | Pub Type(s) | JOURNAL ARTICLE
