Abstract	Pediatricians are inundated by phrases such as "pay for performance" and "enhancement of payments tied into quality measurements." Although there is no argument that we must provide high quality care to our patients and must continuously improve ourselves, we need flexibility within the managed care criteria. Medicine is not only a science, but it is also an art with many interpretations.
