AbstractObesity is a growing problem affecting the health of the nation and requiring long-term management. This article aims to explore the prevalence and multifactoral causes of obesity, focusing on the biopsychosocial aspects of the disease. The health risks associated with obesity are discussed, in particular type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
