Methods: A 3 month old male child presented with excessively rapid growth velocity and weight gain since birth.
Results: On investigation he was diagnosed to have hypothalamic hamartoma with central precocious puberty. On enquiry his mother gave a history of antenatal ultrasound and fetal MRI suggesting the presence of cystic lesion in his brain at nine months' gestation. Because of continued rapid growth and acceleration of puberty during the observation period we decided to treat the patient with leuprolide acetate. The patient responded well to treatment with a stabilization of growth.
