It has potent in vitro activity against Candida species including non-albicans Candida and azole-resistant Candida species and has also demonstrated clinical efficacy against deep-seated Candida infections. Additional in vitro data and preliminary clinical efficacy studies suggest that it also has utility for the treatment of infections caused by Aspergillus species.
