AbstractA case of crusted (Norwegian) scabies in a patient with the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is described and seven previous reports of this association are reviewed. Injury to epidermal Langerhans' cells by the human immunodeficiency virus or cytotoxic cells may explain the appearance of this unusual form of scabies in patients with AIDS.
