The authors present the results of a survey concerning the pediatric management of neonates in public maternity hospitals of the Ile-de-France area, during the years 1985 and 1986. These results are compared with those of a previous national survey concerning the year 1983 and to standards of pediatric personnel in maternity hospitals. This survey shows the persisting and even in some cases, the worsening deficiency in pediatric personnel in maternity hospitals. Various solutions and advices are discussed.
