  • Clinical outcomes during pregnancy and the postpartum period in women with myasthenia gravis and their newborns. [Journal Article]
Arq Neuropsiquiatr. 2026 Oct; 84(10):1-7.Oliveira AVF, Lemos AFA, … Tomaselli PJAN
  • CONCLUSIONS: Pregnancy in MG was characterized by variable disease activity, with late gestation and the postpartum period representing clinically relevant periods of vulnerability to maternal exacerbations and neonatal involvement. Increased third-trimester MG-ADL scores, particularly among antibody-positive mothers, were associated with TNMG and postpartum exacerbations, supporting close monitoring during these periods.
  • Intrinsic Capacity in a Nationally Representative US Population. [Journal Article]
J Gerontol A Biol Sci Med Sci. 2026 Oct 09. [Online ahead of print]Sison SDM, Luo L, … Shi SJG
  • CONCLUSIONS: We demonstrate IC operationalization in a nationally representative U.S. cohort and provide the first US-specific reference centile curves. The findings provide a foundation for future IC research in the US.
  • Long-term dental care utilization trajectories as behavioral markers of cognitive aging: a 14-year national cohort study. [Journal Article]
Front Public Health. 2026; 14:1938854.Jung YS, Joo HFP
  • CONCLUSIONS: Persistently low and declining dental care utilization were associated with similarly faster cognitive decline, with functional deterioration representing the principal mediating pathway. Long-term dental care utilization may be an accessible behavioral marker of broader functional vulnerability. Although modest, these associations may have public health relevance because utilization can be captured through surveys and administrative or claims data. Causal inference cannot be established from this observational study.
  • Reduction of interleukin-6 levels in patients with Friedreich's Ataxia treated with omaveloxolone. [Journal Article]
J Neurol Sci. 2026 Oct 07; 491:126204. [Online ahead of print]Di Stefano V, Lima SM, … Labate AJN
  • CONCLUSIONS: Omav confirmed a favorable safety and tolerability profile in adult patients with FRDA in a real-world setting after 48 weeks of treatment. The sustained reduction in IL-6 levels further supports a potential direct immunomodulatory effect of the drug, consistent with its proposed disease-modifying activity. However, further long-term studies are warranted to better define the efficacy of Omav in FRDA.
