- Formation Mechanism and Enhanced Iodine Capture of Copper-Based Aluminum-Oxo Cluster Bimetallic Organic Frameworks. [Journal Article]Inorg Chem. 2026 Jun 29; 65(25):14014-14022.IC
- Bimetal-organic frameworks (biMOFs) are emerging as promising porous materials for radioactive iodine capture. However, the rational construction of biMOFs with heterometallic secondary building units (SBUs) remains a significant synthetic challenge due to sensitivity to reaction parameters such as ligand concentration, ionic speciation, and solvent effects. Here, we have investigated these influ…

- Multimodal collaborative UAV framework for single rubber tree parsing. [Journal Article]Plant Phenomics. 2026 Sep; 8(3):100227.PP
- Accurate individual-tree segmentation in rubber tree plantations is essential for resource inventory and agro-forestry management, but it remains difficult in densely planted stands because adjacent crowns often overlap, point density varies markedly along the vertical canopy structure, and tree morphology differs across growth stages. To address these challenges, we introduce MDA-SegNet, a multi…

- A Synergistic Molecular Mechanism Defines Pyrogenic Dissolved Organic Matter (pyDOM) Coagulation. [Journal Article]Environ Sci Technol. 2026 Jun 23; 60(24):17483-17491.ES
- Climate change is exacerbating wildfires, resulting in an increased influx of pyrogenic dissolved organic matter (pyDOM) into aquatic systems. The distinctive molecular signature of pyDOM, which is markedly different from that of conventional humic substances, is hypothesized to have an impact on its environmental fate, especially during coagulation that is a crucial process for carbon sedimentat…

- The Value of First-Day CRP and NLR in Distinguishing Infectious from Non-Infectious Causes of Loss of Consciousness in the Emergency Department. [Journal Article]Open Access Emerg Med. 2026; 18:560710.OA
- CONCLUSIONS: First-day CRP and NLR, particularly CRP, show acceptable diagnostic performance for distinguishing infectious from non-infectious causes of ALOC in the ED. Combined use of these markers improves diagnostic accuracy, and elevated NLR is independently associated with in-hospital mortality, supporting its role alongside clinical assessment for early risk stratification.

- Addressing appetite loss in older patients: Validation of the appetite loss in older adults with and without cognitive impairment (ALOC) scale. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: The ALOC scale is currently the only scale validated for use in patients with diminished cognitive reserves. Using it may facilitate a dialogue on the impact and consequences of appetite loss in older adults and appropriate management.

- Ambulance patients with altered level of consciousness: a registry-based cohort study from the North Denmark Region in 2017-2021. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Among unselected prehospital emergency patients brought to a hospital, every eight had ALOC. The patient group was heterogenic concerning the reasons for calling the emergency number and diagnoses given at hospital. ALOC was associated with high 30 days mortality, including 10% for GCS of 14. ALOC, also in milder degree, is a serious sign in a broad prehospital patient population.

- Construction of Terminal Exposed Ti Active Sites Based on Aluminum Oxo Cluster Supports for Visible-Light-Driven CO2 Photoreduction. [Journal Article]Angew Chem Int Ed Engl. 2026 Jan 28; 65(5):e21188.AC
- Maximize the exposure of Ti active sites in titanium-oxo clusters (TOCs) has been considered as the key to highly efficient photocatalytic CO2 reduction. However, the fast aggregation rate of Ti[4+] greatly limits its realization. Herein, we reported a universal strategy to precisely immobilize and disperse Ti via aluminum oxo clusters (AlOCs) supports. Leveraging the coordination-delay effects o…

- Magnetic Blocking in Fluoflavine Radical-Bridged Dilanthanide Complexes. [Journal Article]
- Magnetic exchange coupling is difficult to foster in polynuclear lanthanide (Ln) complexes and poorly understood. While coupling Ln ions through closed-shell ligands is inherently weak due to the contracted 4f orbitals, placing open-shell ligands instead has proven to promote orders of magnitude stronger coupling, giving rise to single-molecule magnets (SMMs) innate to real magnetic memory effect…

- Black aluminum molecular rings embedded in glass: ultralow-bandgap composites for broadband optical limiting. [Journal Article]J Colloid Interface Sci. 2026 Feb 15; 704(Pt 1):139342.JC
- Developing nonlinear optical (NLO) materials from earth-abundant elements is key to sustainable photonics. We report aluminum molecular rings (Al6) stabilized by catechol ligands-the smallest main-group molecular rings known. This versatile strategy enables precise structural control and systematic co-ligand tuning, establishing a robust platform for structure-property studies. Unlike conventiona…

- Mineral-Armored Structure Enhanced the Stability of Polyethylene Microplastics Rather Than Polylactic Acid Microplastics: A Long-Term Natural Aging Study. [Journal Article]
- The aging of microplastics (MPs) depends on their surrounding environment and has significant implications for their environmental behavior and ecological risks. However, there are limited data on the long-term aging of MPs in different natural environments. The natural aging characteristics of polyethylene MPs (PE-MPs) and polylactic acid MPs (PLA-MPs) exposed to air, soil surface, and subsurfac…

- An alveolus lung-on-a-chip model of Mycobacterium fortuitum lung infection. [Journal Article]
- Lung disease due to non-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) is rising in incidence. Although both two-dimensional cell culture and animal models exist for NTM infections, a major knowledge gap is the early responses of human alveolar and innate immune cells to NTM within the human alveolar microenvironment. Here, we describe the development of a humanized, three-dimensional, alveolus lung-on-a-chip (A…

- Awake resection of a right motor cortex arteriovenous malformation in a pediatric patient: A case report and review of the literature. [Case Reports]Surg Neurol Int. 2024; 15:453.SN
- CONCLUSIONS: This case represents only the second pediatric patient in the available medical literature to have ever undergone AC for intracranial AVM resection. Pediatric AVMs are a rare entity and pose the risk of significant morbidity and mortality. Awake surgery has the potential to reduce iatrogenic neurological deficits in the pediatric population significantly. More work must be done to increase pediatric patient compliance with awake surgery.

- A novel appetite loss in older adults with and without cognitive impairment (ALOC) screening scale. [Journal Article]
- Appetite is a strong determinant of nutritional status. As cognitive impairment is usually linked to alterations in eating behaviour, people with dementia might experience changes in appetite with the loss of ability to express their needs, including dietary choices and preferences. The aim of the study was to develop an appetite loss screening tool for older adults, inclusive for those with mild…
