As fully reversed by SGLT2-I, but not by ACE-I, LSEC defenestration arises as a target in the treatment of the cardiohepatic axis in CHF, which is not uniformly improved by CHF pharmacotherapy.

- Adherence and Healthcare Costs Associated with Single-vs Free-Pill Combination of Perindopril-Based Antihypertensive Medications: An 11-Year Follow-Up, Real-World Evidence. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: In this long-term, real-world study, SPC use was associated with better adherence, reduced HCRU, and lower healthcare costs compared with FPC regimens. These economic benefits were evident within 1 year and may yield substantial long-term savings for national health systems, given the high prevalence and chronic nature of hypertension.

- Yiqi Huoxue formula promotes post-myocardial infarction angiogenesis by modulating mitochondria-associated membranes (MAMs) and calcium homeostasis via the cGMP/PKG signaling pathway. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: This study demonstrates that MI/hypoxia impairs endothelial function by disrupting the structural and functional integrity of MAMs. YQHX effectively preserves MAMs architecture and restores intracellular Ca2+ signaling via the cGMP/PKG signaling axis, thereby promoting post-MI angiogenesis and improving cardiac performance. These findings identify a novel therapeutic target for MI and highlight the unique advantages of traditional Chinese medicine formulas in modulating subcellular organelle interactions. However, given the inherent variability of botanical materials, these mechanistic findings are based on a single validated batch, and future multi-batch standardizations are warranted.
