  • Primer- and template-independent RNA polymerization by terminal nucleotidyltransferase TENT4B. [Journal Article]
Nucleic Acids Res. 2026 Sep 07; 54(17).Nagpal N, Tai AK, … Agarwal SNA
  • RNA synthesis by eukaryotic polymerases requires existing polynucleotides to serve as templates or primers. Here, we describe primer- and template-free RNA generation by human terminal nucleotidyltransferase 4B (TENT4B) via de novo polymerization of free nucleotides. We observed that recombinant TENT4B (rTENT4B) consumes ATP to yield inorganic pyrophosphate in the absence of a primer or template,…
  • Experimental and Computational Tools for Mapping Circular RNA Modifications. [Review]
    Wiley Interdiscip Rev RNA. 2026 Sep-Oct; 17(5):e70055.Sahoo G, Santra D, Panda ACWI
  • Posttranscriptional RNA modifications and their impact on the structure and function have been extensively studied on linear RNAs. As RNA modifications affect RNA structure, stability, localization, and translation, several methods have been developed to study modifications on linear RNAs. These modifications on RNAs ultimately regulate gene expression. One of the poorly characterized classes of …
  • ATP Release and Purinergic Signaling Potentiate β-Adrenergic Effects on Brown Adipocytes. [Journal Article]
Acta Physiol (Oxf). 2026 Oct; 242(10):e70307.Tozzi M, Berggreen EB, … Novak IAP
  • CONCLUSIONS: The present study demonstrates that ATP is released from BA via pannexin-1 channels in response to β-adrenergic stimulation, that extracellular ATP, acting through P2 receptor signaling, potentiates β-adrenergic effects on BA function, and that expression of several purinergic receptors changes in response to β-adrenergic stimulation.
  • KRAS-driven cytokine-metabolic crosstalk shapes immune exclusion in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. [Review]
    Front Genet. 2026; 17:1899014.Huang C, Mai G, … Huang WFG
  • Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) remains refractory to immunotherapy, frequently characterized by an immune-excluded tumor microenvironment (TME). Oncogenic KRAS mutation, the predominant genetic driver in PDAC, serves as a master upstream regulator linking tumor-intrinsic signaling with microenvironmental remodeling. Through reshaping cytokine secretion and metabolic programs, mutant KRAS…
  • pgRNA-m[6]A levels associate with HBV replication and liver function. [Journal Article]
    Epigenetics. 2026 Dec 31; 21(1):2726628.Yang C, Qin S, … Liu SME
  • m[6]A modification has been shown to play a role in regulating HBV RNA expression. However, it remains unclear whether the m[6]A levels of HBV pregenomic RNA (pgRNA) are related to HBV replication and liver function. Serum HBV pgRNA-m[6]A levels were determined by T3 DNA ligase assay. HBV DNA copy numbers and gene expression were detected by TaqMan assay and RT-qPCR, respectively. Liver function …
  • Early life sugar rationing and ageing related diseases, biological ageing and mortality. [Journal Article]
    Nat Commun. 2026 Jul 31; 17(1).Zheng J, Zhou Z, … Cuthbertson DJNC
  • Early-life nutrition may influence lifelong ageing, yet human evidence is scarce. Using Britain's postwar sugar rationing as a natural experiment, we examine its long-term effects in 64,809 United Kingdom Biobank participants. Exposure to sugar rationing during the first 1,000 days of life is associated with a 9% lower incidence of hallmark-related disease, with a hazard ratio of 0.91 and a 95% c…
