- Divergent effects of hyperandrogenemia on the female reproductive neuroendocrine axis under different physiological conditions. [Review]J Neuroendocrinol. 2026 Oct; 38(10):e70267.JN
- The hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis coordinates reproductive function and incorporates gonadal sex steroid feedback to regulate gonadotropin secretion in a homeostatic manner. In females, ovarian estrogens and progestins act as the primary negative feedback signals to suppress luteinizing hormone (LH) release, whereas in males, androgens, such as testosterone (T), typically provide this…

- Expression of miR-382-5p in polycystic ovary syndrome and its role in regulating granulosa cell function via targeting TOP1. [Journal Article]Gynecol Obstet Invest. 2026 Sep 25; :1. [Online ahead of print]GO
- CONCLUSIONS: miR-382-5p regulated the imbalance between insulin-mediated proliferation and apoptosis in KGN cells by directly targeting TOP1, thereby contributing to the progression of PCOS.

- Lipodystrophies and female reproduction: pathophysiology, clinical spectrum, and management across the reproductive lifespan. [Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: Female reproductive dysfunction in lipodystrophy results from complex interactions between leptin, insulin, and gonadal steroid pathways. A multidisciplinary approach is required to optimize metabolic and reproductive outcomes, while prospective data on fertility and pregnancy under metreleptin remain crucial for future practice.

- Prevalence and Etiological Pattern of Infertility in Women Presenting to a Gynecology Clinic in a Secondary Health Facility, South-South, Nigeria: A Cross-Sectional Study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: This study highlights a high infertility rate of 34.4% among women presenting to a gynecology clinic in South-South Nigeria, with male infertility being the predominant factor. This underscores the need for comprehensive evaluation and management of both partners in infertility cases, emphasizing the importance of male factor assessment in addressing this significant public health concern.

- Critical Function of SIK3 in Androgen-Producing Ovarian Theca Cells for Female Reproductive Competence. [Journal Article]Endocrinology. 2026 Sep 18. [Online ahead of print]E
- Infertility affects over 10% of women of reproductive age, with ovulatory dysfunction being the leading cause. Despite its widespread prevalence, the mechanisms behind infertility and anovulation are not fully understood. Recently, we reported infertility, ovulation failure, and severe ovarian abnormalities in mice lacking salt-inducible kinase 3 (SIK3). However, this phenotype was not fully repl…

- Serum Prostate-Specific Antigen Concentrations in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: A Comparative Analysis of Hirsute and Non-Hirsute Phenotypes. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Hirsute phenotypes demonstrated clustered hyperandrogenic features, including higher free testosterone, BMI, and acne prevalence. Although PSA levels did not differ between phenotypic groups, the significant positive correlations with hirsutism score and metabolic parameters suggest that PSA may reflect androgenic-metabolic activity in PCOS, underscoring the heterogeneity of the syndrome and the need for comprehensive phenotypic assessment.

- Role of Liraglutide in weight management and reproductive health in women with obesity and PCOS- A critical review of the evidence. [Review]
- Obesity and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) in women are associated with significant reproductive dysfunction, manifesting as hormonal imbalances, anovulation, and subfertility. These conditions not only impair reproductive outcomes but also contribute to a reduced quality of life. Crucially, obesity and PCOS share a bidirectional relationship. While obesity can trigger and worsen PCOS manifesta…

- Causal adiposity and clinical validation of regional fat distribution in PMOS: a multi-modal analysis integrating GBD 2021, Mendelian randomization, and machine learning. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Adiposity, particularly regional fat distribution, appears to be a clinically relevant determinant of PMOS. The convergence of global epidemiological patterns, genetic evidence, and clinical prediction supports the importance of body-composition phenotypes beyond conventional obesity measures in understanding PMOS risk.

- Personalized approach to infertility treatment in a patient with polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome and chronic pancreatitis. [Case Reports]Ceska Gynekol. 2026; 91(4):322-325.CG
- Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine disorder in fertile women, with an estimated prevalence of 10-15%. It is a heterogeneous disease characterized by a complex pathogenesis. Genetic predisposition, neuroendocrine regulation disorders, and environmental influences play a key role. Dysregulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis occurs with subsequent chronic anov…

- Efficacy of pioglitazone in correcting ovulatory functions among polycystic ovary syndrome patients. [Journal Article]
- Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a major cause of infertility due to chronic anovulation, and current treatments like metformin are not effective for all patients. Evidence on pioglitazone's role in restoring ovulation is limited, particularly among South Asian women where PCOS prevalence is high. This study, conducted in Lahore from January to June 2025, evaluated pioglitazone in 95 PCOS pati…

- Pregnancy Outcomes Following Artificial Insemination and Embryo Transfer in Dairy Cows-Expectations vs. Reality. [Review]
- Bovine embryo transfer (ET) has been a consistently growing market worldwide with in vitro produced (IVP) embryos now far outnumbering those produced by traditional superovulation. Because transfer of a viable blastocyst-stage embryo to the uterus bypasses many of the potential biological causes of early pregnancy failure associated with artificial insemination (AI; anovulation, sperm transport, …

- Therapeutic Potential of Anti-Obesity Drugs in Obesity-Associated Female Reproductive Dysfunction: Translating Mechanistic Evidence into Personalized Clinical Strategies. [Review]
- Obesity is a multifactorial condition that profoundly affects female reproductive health through endocrine, metabolic, and inflammatory mechanisms that disrupt the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis. Women with obesity frequently develop menstrual irregularities, anovulation, amenorrhea, infertility, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), impaired endometrial receptivity, and adverse pregnancy …
