- Inducible Laryngeal Obstruction in Hypermobile Patients. [Journal Article]Laryngoscope. 2026 Oct 11. [Online ahead of print]L
- CONCLUSIONS: Chronic cough, dysphagia, and elevated MC symptom burden were the strongest independent predictors of ILO across both hEDS and HSD, underscoring the need for routine multidisciplinary laryngeal assessment in this population.

- Improved Visualization of Heart Valves With 4D-CT Using a Novel Motion Correction Algorithm. [Journal Article]Invest Radiol. 2026 Oct 12. [Online ahead of print]IR
- CONCLUSIONS: A novel motion correction algorithm substantially reduced motion artifacts and improved image quality in both native and prosthetic heart valve imaging with PCD-CT, with the largest improvements in systole. These benefits resulted in enhanced visualization of valvular pathology, potentially reinforcing the growing clinical role of cardiac CT for the assessment of valve disease.

- Postoperative Vasoactive Exposure Patterns and Outcomes After Non-Cardiac Surgery: A Prespecified Analysis of the SQUEEZE Cohort. [Multicenter Study]Acta Anaesthesiol Scand. 2026 Nov; 70(10):e70355.AA
- CONCLUSIONS: Postoperative vasoactive exposure follows reproducible patterns characterised by persistence and overall treatment burden rather than binary classification alone. These patterns were associated with mortality, AKI, and hospital length of stay, and provided prognostic information beyond duration alone.

- Evaluation of PET-detected nodal upstaging and planning target volume expansion in esophageal cancer radiotherapy planning. [Journal Article]Strahlenther Onkol. 2026 Oct 11. [Online ahead of print]SO
- CONCLUSIONS: During esophageal cancer radiotherapy planning, PET-detected nodal upstaging was independently associated with clinically meaningful target volume expansion. The association was consistent across alternative expansion thresholds and in bootstrap internal validation, and a paired lung dose-volume comparison indicated that the expansion threshold corresponds to a measurable increase in lung dose burden.

- Circulating Tumor Cell Synaptophysin and Androgen Receptor Expression Reflect Prostate Cancer Phenotypes in Metastatic Disease. [Journal Article]Prostate. 2026 Oct 11. [Online ahead of print]P
- CONCLUSIONS: SYP and AR CTC expression showed strong concordance with tissue histology and clinical features of NE differentiation and AR-positive adenocarcinoma. These findings support the feasibility of CTC immunophenotyping to characterize lineage-associated phenotypes including SYP-expressing NE differentiation in mCRPC. Prospective validation in larger cohorts with matched tissue biopsies is needed to define the clinical utility of this approach.

- Physical Modalities for Temporomandibular Disorders: A Cross-Sectional Survey of Knowledge, Perceptions, and Practice Patterns Among Dental Professionals in Sana'a, Yemen. [Journal Article]Clin Cosmet Investig Dent. 2026; 18:641339.CC
- CONCLUSIONS: Among dental practitioners in Sana'a, knowledge about evidence-based physical modalities for TMD is insufficient, with a notable gap between positive attitudes and actual clinical practice. These findings highlight the need for strengthened undergraduate and continuing education, improved interprofessional collaboration with physiotherapy services, and enhanced access to physical therapy resources in this resource-limited, conflict-affected setting.

- Acute Severe Aortic Regurgitation Immediately After Cardiopulmonary Bypass Initiation in a Patient With a Bicuspid Aortic Valve. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2026 Sep; 18(9):e116030.C
- Antegrade cardioplegia delivery during cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) is standard practice in cardiac surgery, but it carries a risk of perfusion failure and acute myocardial distension in the presence of aortic regurgitation (AR). In patients with a bicuspid aortic valve (BAV), acute exacerbation of AR can occur immediately after initiating CPB. An 80-year-old man with a bicuspid aortic valve (Sie…

- The Gut-Brain Axis and Neurodegenerative Diseases: From Mechanistic Pathways to Therapeutic Interventions. [Review]Probiotics Antimicrob Proteins. 2026 Oct 10. [Online ahead of print]PA
- As the global population ages, the incidence of neurodegenerative diseases (NDDs) has increased. Neurodegenerative diseases have complex pathogenesis and currently lack fundamental treatment methods. The gut-brain axis (GBA) participates in the pathogenesis of NDDs through bidirectional communication between the gut microbiota and the central nervous system (CNS).
