- Isolated Prostatic Tuberculosis Coexisting with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia: A Case Report. [Case Reports]Int Med Case Rep J. 2026; 19:640903.IM
- CONCLUSIONS: Prostatic tuberculosis remains a diagnostic challenge, as it can silently coexist with benign prostatic hyperplasia in endemic regions; this case highlights the value of routine histopathological examination of resected tissue for uncovering unsuspected disease and ensuring prompt anti-tuberculous therapy.

- How does PSA change after water vapor therapy? A systematic review and meta-analysis. [Review]Prostate Cancer Prostatic Dis. 2026 Oct 06. [Online ahead of print]PC
- CONCLUSIONS: Rezūm therapy is associated with a reproducible PSA trajectory characterized by an early transient increase followed by a moderate decline from 3-12 months (~10%). Because this late change is non-significant and within the expected variability of PSA, it is unlikely to modify follow-up strategy. Awareness of this pattern may support appropriate interpretation of PSA measurements after MIST for BPH.

- Human Prostate Cell Lines: Derivation, Molecular Characteristics and Appropriate Use. [Review]Prostate. 2026 Oct 06. [Online ahead of print]P
- CONCLUSIONS: Several descriptions repeated in the secondary literature are not supported by the primary characterization of the lines concerned. Selection of a line from the research question rather than from availability, verification of the relevant target in the working stock, authentication by short tandem repeat profiling, and full reporting of passage number and culture conditions would remove a substantial part of the variability presently seen in this literature.

- A JA-OsMYB72-OsTAM1 module promotes (R)-β-tyrosine-mediated lignin defense against brown planthopper in rice. [Journal Article]Plant Physiol. 2026 Oct 06. [Online ahead of print]PP
- Brown planthopper (Nilaparvata lugens, BPH) is a major pest that severely limits rice production. Although plant defense against BPH involves complex metabolic and structural responses, the role of non-protein amino acids (NPAAs) in this process remains poorly understood. Here, we demonstrate that (R)-β-tyrosine functions as a key defense metabolite that enhances rice resistance to BPH. Exogenous…

- A serine-rich salivary protein facilitates brown planthopper feeding and survival by mediating salivary sheath formation. [Journal Article]Insect Mol Biol. 2026 Oct 05. [Online ahead of print]IM
- The piercing-sucking pest, brown planthopper (Nilaparvata lugens, BPH), poses a severe and persistent threat to rice in China and across Asia. During feeding, BPHs secrete salivary proteins to form salivary sheaths, which are crucial for successful and sustained phloem sap ingestion. These salivary sheath proteins are crucial for rice-BPH interactions and hold promise as targets for pest control …

- CONCLUSIONS: Although NFT outnumber FT by 14 to one, FT performed eight times more non-BPH URPS cases annually on average and accounted for 34% of total non-BPH volume.

- Integrated Single-Cell and Bulk RNA Sequencing Reveals Inflammatory Microenvironment and Glycolysis-Driven Epithelial Proliferation in Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the inflammatory microenvironment and metabolic characteristics of BPH and identifies glycolysis-mediated proliferation of basal epithelial cells as a key driver of disease progression. Pharmacological inhibition of glycolysis with 2-deoxy-D-glucose reduced prostate weight, prostate index, epithelial proliferation and M1-like macrophage infiltration in vivo, indicating that targeting glycolytic metabolism is a promising therapeutic strategy for BPH. These findings offer novel insights into BPH pathogenesis and provide a rationale for developing metabolism-directed, and potentially locally delivered, interventions that could benefit patients who respond poorly to current medical therapy.

- Ratiometric fluorescent detection of sarcosine in prostate cancer cell lysates based on a CdTe QDs/Ag[+] turn-on system. [Journal Article]Anal Methods. 2026 Oct 02. [Online ahead of print]AM
- Prostate cancer (PCa) is one of the most common malignancies in men, and sarcosine has been identified as a potential metabolic biomarker for PCa progression. Herein, we develop a ratiometric CdTe quantum dots (R-QDs)/Ag[+] switch-on fluorescent sensing platform for sensitive and specific detection of sarcosine in prostate cancer cells. In this ratiometric design, the 640 nm emission of R-QDs ser…

- Plasma Vitamin D and Intermediate Age-Related Macular Degeneration: Insights from the Longitudinal ALIENOR Study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Low deseasonalized plasma 25(OH)D levels were associated with a higher risk of developing intermediate AMD and progressive thickening of the RPE-BM complex, a key retinal structure implicated in AMD pathogenesis. These findings support an association hypothesis and highlight vitamin D status as a candidate modifiable factor worthy of further investigation.

- CONCLUSIONS: In carefully selected young men, PUL did not result in a deterioration of the semen quality and ejaculation through 18 months while providing durable symptom relief. To our knowledge, this is the first report of successful paternity following PUL. Ejaculation-sparing MIST should be central to counseling for fertility-conscious patients.

HCK negativity further supports its deprioritization in diagnostic panels.
