- Ovarian Yolk Sac Tumor in a 10-Year-Old Girl Following Metachronous Bilateral Mature Ovarian Teratomas. [Journal Article]Case Rep Obstet Gynecol. 2026; 2026:9281498.CR
- CONCLUSIONS: The presented case highlights a disadvantage of overzealous oophorectomy. Detorsion of the seemingly necrotic ovary followed by second-look surgery could have preserved some ovarian function.

- Atypical presacral masses in Currarino syndrome: a case series. [Case Reports]
- CONCLUSIONS: These cases highlight the considerable heterogeneity of presacral lesions in Currarino syndrome and identify two underrecognized or previously unreported tumor types: myxopapillary ependymoma and neuroendocrine tumor. Surgical management must be individualized and often requires a multidisciplinary approach. Future studies will further clarify genotype-phenotype relationships and improve diagnostic and management strategies in this complex syndrome.

- Autoamputation of pelvic adnexa: two case reports. [Case Reports]Gynecol Pelvic Med. 2026; 9:39.GP
- CONCLUSIONS: Chronic adnexal torsion can lead to complete auto-amputation and an isolated pelvic mass. High index of suspicion and early diagnostic laparoscopy are essential in young women with acute or subacute abdominal pain.

- Laparoscopic Findings Revealing a Mature Ovarian Teratoma Initially Diagnosed as a Mesenteric Tumor: A Case Report. [Case Reports]
- Mature ovarian teratomas are the most common benign germ cell tumors of the ovary and usually affect women of reproductive age. Their clinical presentation is variable, and in some cases, imaging findings may be misleading, complicating the preoperative diagnosis. We report a case of an 18-year-old female patient who presented to the emergency department with acute abdominal pain. Imaging studies…

- The vertebral axis in retroperitoneal fetus in fetu: a case report on the definitive diagnosis. [Case Reports]
- CONCLUSIONS: Distinguishing FIF from mature teratomas relies on identifying a vertebral axis and organized internal structures. Complete surgical excision is the definitive treatment and is associated with an excellent prognosis. While standard clinical follow-up is sufficient for completely excised, mature FIFs, long-term AFP surveillance may be considered, particularly in cases exhibiting immature elements with malignant potential.

- Cesarean Delivery after Abdominal Wall Reconstruction Using an Anterolateral Thigh Flap with Vascularized Fascia Lata. [Case Reports]
- Techniques for abdominal wall reconstruction include the use of prosthetic materials (synthetic or biological meshes), component separation, autologous tissue reconstruction, or a combination thereof. Reconstruction using prosthetic materials avoids additional trauma to healthy tissues but carries risks such as infection, adhesion to surrounding structures, and bowel obstruction caused by intesti…

- Intracranial Germ Cell Tumors: An Updated Review of Diagnostic Strategies and Treatment Paradigms. [Review]
- Intracranial germ cell tumors (iGCTs) are rare central nervous system neoplasms predominantly affecting children, adolescents, and young adults. They exhibit striking geographic and gender predilection, with a higher incidence in East Asian populations and a marked male preponderance. Clinically, iGCTs encompass two broad entities-germinomatous and non-germinomatous tumors, with the latter compri…

- CONCLUSIONS: Strict no-spillage principles and early referral to high-expertise centers are essential when malignancy is suspected.

- Totally Enclosed Protective Device versus Conventional Retrieval Bag in Laparoscopic Ovarian Teratoma Cystectomy: A Multicenter Randomized Controlled Trial. [Journal Article]J Minim Invasive Gynecol. 2026 Oct 09. [Online ahead of print]JM
- CONCLUSIONS: Within this study cohort, the device provided an effective physical barrier, and no macroscopic intraoperative spillage was observed. Preliminary findings suggest that standardizing this contained extraction strategy is associated with the absence of long-term complications, specifically chronic pelvic pain, in this sample.

- A rare occurrence of giant dermoid cyst in the left ischiorectal fossa in a 25-year-old female patient: a case report. [Case Reports]
- A dermoid cyst, also called a benign cystic teratoma, often presents as a midline mass in the trunk or sacrococcygeal region, and more commonly in the skin of the face, forehead, and scalp. Although the ischiorectal fossa contains very few structures, a wide variety of pathological entities, such as developmental cysts, epidermoid cysts, lipomas, neurofibromas, and tailgut cysts, have been report…

- Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome associated with anti-N-methyl-ᴅ-aspartate receptor encephalitis: a case report. [Case Reports]Encephalitis. 2026 Oct; 6(4):121-126.E
- Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) is a clinicoradiological syndrome characterized by vasogenic edema, predominantly involving the posterior regions of the brain, and can be triggered by various conditions. PRES has rarely been reported in patients with autoimmune encephalitis, and no cases have been reported in anti-N-methyl-ᴅ-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) encephalitis before the i…

- An unusual colo-ovarian fistula of advanced colorectal carcinoma: A case report and literature review. [Case Reports]
- In colorectal cancer, the invasion of the colon is not unusual, but the perforation of all layers of the colon or rectum and the presentation of the patient with generalized peritonitis is rare. Colo-ovarian fistulas have as their starting point either in the sigmoid colon, rectum, appendix or, more frequently, as a benign or malignant ovarian tumor. The present study reports an extremely rare ca…
