- Comprehensive description of clinical features of laryngeal dystonia and dystonic vocal tremor. [Journal Article]Acta Otorhinolaryngol Ital. 2026 Aug; 46(4):272-280.AO
- CONCLUSIONS: Correct LD classification aids in diagnosis, prognosis and treatment; it should be dynamic and evolve with the patient's history. However, there is a lack of data in the literature on certain aspects of LD, emphasising the need for further research to improve clinical practice.

- Why Do Clinically Ideal Sacral Nerve Stimulator Candidates Choose Botulinum Toxin Instead? A Study of Advanced Overactive Bladder Treatment Decision-Making. [Journal Article]Neurourol Urodyn. 2026 Sep 07. [Online ahead of print]NU
- CONCLUSIONS: Furthering our understanding of patients' concerns regarding treatments for OAB, including BTX and SNS, can help patient-centered counseling, which is essential to delivering high-quality, individualized care. In our study, we found that participants expressed a preference for familiar, as well as simpler, less complex treatments. Participants were influenced by pre-existing perceptions that may not be anticipated by the clinician. Taking time to explore a patients' concerns and understanding can enhance shared decision-making and optimize clinical outcomes.

- Botulinum Toxin in Facial Paralysis: A Neuroaesthetic Framework for Functional, Therapeutic, and Aesthetic Correction. [Review]J Drugs Dermatol. 2026 Sep 01; 25(9):800-805.JD
- CONCLUSIONS: This review introduces a neuroaesthetic framework that unifies aesthetic, functional, and therapeutic applications of BTX-A in facial paralysis and emphasizes its multi-systemic complexity. With appropriate knowledge and understanding of facial nerve dysfunction, dermatologists and clinicians experienced with neuromodulators are well positioned to deliver comprehensive function-guided treatments across the spectrum of facial paralysis-related sequelae.

- Disorders of craniofacial muscles (CFM) frequently arise from various conditions and injuries affecting the central and peripheral nervous systems, as well as from neurosurgical, reconstructive, and cosmetic interventions. The principal clinical manifestations include facial asymmetry, lagophthalmos, paralytic strabismus, synkinesis, contractures, trismus, bruxism, temporomandibular joint dysfunc…

- Botulinum toxin type A injection in treatment of pediatric cyclic esotropia. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Botulinum toxin type A injection effectively interrupts the cyclic deviation pattern and yields durable ocular alignment in this small cohort of children with cyclic esotropia. The majority of injection-related adverse events resolved by 3 months, with complete resolution of all complications by 4 months. Accordingly, botulinum toxin type A injection represents a viable nonsurgical alternative for the management of pediatric cyclic esotropia.

- Energy-based devices for enhanced transdermal drug delivery in pathological scars: A review. [Review]
- Although laser-assisted drug delivery (LADD) technology is well established, its clinical application has now expanded to include a broader range of energy-based devices (EBDs). This review aims to evaluate the use of energy-based device-assisted drug delivery (EADD) in the treatment of hypertrophic scars (HTS) and keloids. Following a comprehensive search of English and Chinese databases, 30 rel…

- Ketamine uropathy: an update on pathophysiology, complications, and treatment options. [Review]
- Ketamine is a potent anaesthetic drug that has been used for decades. Ketamine abuse is an increasingly common problem, particularly among young people. Over one quarter of ketamine users will have at least one bothersome urological symptom, with heavier and longer use leading to potentially irreversible damage to the lower and upper urinary tract. Hence, this study carried out a narrative review…

- Interventional Management of Chronic Neuropathic Cervical Pain Following Nerve Sheath Tumor Resection and Radiation: A Case Report. [Case Reports]Pain Med Case Rep. 2026 Aug; 10(6):507-510.PM
- CONCLUSIONS: Post-treatment cervical neuropathic pain can be refractory despite standard care. A multidisciplinary, individualized approach that integrates diagnostic blocks, targeted interventions, and cancer rehabilitation may improve function and quality of life in selected patients.
- Caregiver mirroring as a foundation for facial feedback mechanisms in emotion perception. [Review]Infant Behav Dev. 2026 Sep; 84:102233.IB
- The facial feedback hypothesis suggests that facial muscle activity contributes to emotion perception, but the developmental origins of this mechanism remain underspecified. This theoretical paper argues that caregiver mirroring - specifically caregivers' contingent imitation of infant facial expressions - plays a critical role in establishing the facial feedback mechanism. Drawing on previous em…

- Early Treatment of Post-Stroke Spasticity with Botulinum Toxin Type A: Myth or Reality? [Review]
- Post-stroke spasticity may interfere with function and rehabilitation and contribute to pain, contracture, care burden, and disability. Botulinum toxin type A is an established focal treatment for post-stroke spasticity, but it is often introduced in the chronic phase, when persistent involuntary muscle overactivity may coexist with secondary musculoskeletal complications. This opinion paper crit…

- Effectiveness of Onabotulinumtoxin-A in Patients with Chronic Migraine and Previous CGRP-mAb Treatment Failure: A Multicentre 6-Month Real-World Experience. [Multicenter Study]
- CONCLUSIONS: The present findings support the use of BoNT-A in difficult-to-treat patients with CM following CGRP-mAb failure and provide further evidence that its therapeutic effects may rely on mechanisms that are at least partially distinct from, and potentially complementary to, those of CGRP-targeted therapies.

- Fascial Remodeling After Botulinum Toxin Injection in Post-Stroke Spasticity: A Retrospective Ultrasonographic Study. [Journal Article]
- Post-stroke spasticity involves both neural and non-neural mechanisms, including structural alterations of muscles and surrounding fascia. Although botulinum toxin type A (BoNT-A) is widely used to treat focal spasticity, its effects on fascial tissue remain unclear. This retrospective observational study investigated longitudinal changes in fascial thickness after BoNT-A injection using ultrason…
