- Injury prevention content in social media posts by Children's hospitals: a missed opportunity for education and advocacy. [Journal Article]Inj Epidemiol. 2026 Aug 14; 13(Suppl 1).IE
- CONCLUSIONS: Although children's hospitals have large SoMe followings, IP is rarely discussed. While ties to IP-oriented organizations improve coverage of IP content, this represents a critical missed opportunity to address the leading causes of pediatric deaths.

- Molecular Alterations in Patients of Color with Advanced Cutaneous and Unknown Primary Melanomas. [Journal Article]J Am Acad Dermatol. 2026 Aug 14. [Online ahead of print]JA
- CONCLUSIONS: CUP melanomas in self-ID POC had lower median TMB and were more likely to be pan-wildtype, reflecting differences in pathogenesis. Larger scale studies are needed to validate these findings.

- A Rare Case of Amelanotic Melanoma with an Unknown Primary in the Buccinator Muscle. [Case Reports]
- Malignant melanoma demonstrates strikingly varied clinical presentations, on account of which it is often challenging to diagnose. We describe herein a rare case of amelanotic malignant melanoma (AMM) in the buccinator muscle presenting as a solitary mass. A middle-aged woman presented with a non-pigmented swelling under the right buccal mucosa. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed a well-ci…

- Microbiota-Derived Corisin Is Elevated in Early Cervical Neoplasia and Drives Pathogenic Cellular Programs. [Journal Article]Cells. 2026 Jul 28; 15(15).C
- Cervical cancer remains a major global health challenge and a leading cause of gynecological cancer-related mortality, particularly in developing countries. Although persistent human papillomavirus infection is the primary driver of cervical carcinogenesis, host factors such as immune dysregulation and microbiome dysbiosis may contribute to disease progression. Corisin is a microbiota-derived pep…

- Diagnostic and prognostic outcomes for men with prostate cancer detected through opportunistic, asymptomatic PSA testing or symptomatic presentation to primary care: The PC3 cohort study. [Journal Article]Br J Gen Pract. 2026 Aug 11. [Online ahead of print]BJ
- Background Primary care is the main route to diagnosis for patients with prostate cancer, either following asymptomatic Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) testing or investigating prostate-related symptoms. Whilst previous primary care studies suggest an association between symptoms and prostate cancer diagnosis, it remains unknown whether outcomes differ based on the presence or absence of symptoms…

- Frequent mutations in the BIRC3 gene promote metastatic potential of nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells through the TRAF2-NF-κB pathway. [Journal Article]Cell Signal. 2026 Aug 11; 148:112814. [Online ahead of print]CS
- Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a head and neck cancer characterized by highly locoregionally invasive behavior attributable to the latent infection with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and genomic instability. It is well established that EBV-encoded oncogenic molecules actively contribute to the malignant behavior of NPC cells. However, the mechanism by which aberrant genomic alterations enable NPC c…

- Axillary metastasis in non-specific molecular profile of endometrial carcinoma: a case report and literature review. [Case Reports]Int J Surg Case Rep. 2026 Aug; 138(8):3197-3203.IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Axillary metastasis in endometrial carcinoma is a rare finding, either as a primary event or in a recurrent setting. The NSMP molecular profile may be associated with distant metastasis, although the mechanism remains unknown. We suggest aggressive locoregional management, including surgery with chemo- and/or radiation therapy, which may be considered in similar cases with favorable outcomes.

- Commission on Cancer Standard 5.7 Compliance and Technical Quality of Rectal Cancer Surgery: A National Cohort Study. [Journal Article]J Am Coll Surg. 2026 Aug 10. [Online ahead of print]JA
- CONCLUSIONS: Standard 5.7 compliance was independently associated with lower CRM positivity and more complete TME, suggesting that Standard 5.7 represents a meaningful facility-level indicator of technical quality in rectal cancer surgery. Whether these differences translate into improved long-term oncologic outcomes requires further study.

- SMARCB1/INI1-deficient Undifferentiated Carcinoma Presenting as Cancer of Unknown Primary with Massive Hepatic Involvement: Transient Response to FOLFOX plus Nivolumab. [Journal Article]Intern Med. 2026 Aug 08. [Online ahead of print]IM
- SMARCB1/INI1-deficient carcinomas are rare and aggressive, and their responses to immune checkpoint inhibitors remain incompletely characterized. A 38-year-old woman presented with massive bilobar liver metastasis, ascites, bone lesions, and a small pancreatic tail lesion without an identifiable primary tumor. Liver biopsy revealed an undifferentiated carcinoma with rhabdoid features and complete…

- [A Case of Advanced Gastric Cancer That Had Been Completely Cured by Single Dose of wPTX plus RAM]. [Case Reports]Gan To Kagaku Ryoho. 2026 Jul; 53(7):468-470.GT
- A 72-year-old man was diagnosed with advanced gastric cancer with severe gastric stenosis, lymph node metastasis, and portal vein invasion. He underwent ileo-gastrostomy, then received chemotherapy using 4 cycles of S-1 and 2 cycles of SOX. The response to this therapy was judged PD; thus, second-line therapy of wPTX + RAM was introduced, although icterus and ascites were recognized then. After a…
- Occult squamous cell carcinoma presenting as oligometastatic lymphadenopathy. A systematic review with a case report. [Systematic Review]Oncol Rev. 2026; 20:1801426.OR
- CONCLUSIONS: The diversity of therapeutic approaches documented in the literature emphasizes the importance of individualised treatment strategies, including immunotherapy. Genomic profiling may help implement molecular-based therapy; however, no genetic testing has been reported for the patients included in this cohort.

- A comprehensive spatial proteome landscape of ectopic lymphoid-like structures in metastatic colorectal cancer reveals specific signatures for predicting clinical outcomes. [Journal Article]
- We previously generated a global bulk-level proteogenomic atlas of metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC) in a Chinese cohort (CCRC). Using formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues from this cohort, we identified 2095 ectopic lymphoid-like structures (ELSs) across 132 primary tumors. Both lymphoid aggregates (Aggs) and tertiary lymphoid structures (TLSs) were significantly associated with metastasis …
