  • As China's cancer burden continues to rise and treatment becomes increasingly complex, clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) are crucial to standardising cancer care and supporting clinical decision-making. Over the past decades, China has made substantial progress in developing oncology CPGs, transitioning from expert consensus and international adaptation toward domestically led guideline product…
  • Environmental Exposure to Carcinogens and Cancer Incidence in Kazakhstan: Opportunities for Cancer Prevention. [Review]
    Asian Pac J Cancer Prev. 2026 Oct 01; 27(10):3679-3687.Taioli E, Tuminello S, … Amankulov JAP
  • CONCLUSIONS: There are relatively small, densely populated areas that are heavily impacted by reactors, previous nuclear testing, uranium mines, chemical plants, and nuclear waste facilities. The geographic distribution of cancer rates reflects, in part, the location of the polluting sites, as well as personal exposure to behavioral risk factors, such as smoking and dietary habits. Aggressive preventive measures should be put in place for those cancers that are preventable through either screening or vaccination. Because of the many radon and uranium sites, lung cancer screening should be routinely offered to high-risk populations.
  • Closing the Automation Gap in HPV-Based Cervical Cancer Screening: Independent External Validation of an AI Model for Dual-Stain Triage. [Journal Article]
    NEJM AI. 2026 Oct; 3(10):AIoa2600270.Lahrmann B, Keil A, … Grabe NNA
  • CONCLUSIONS: This study establishes a high-stringency validation framework for clinically deployable artificial intelligence in population-based cancer screening. By combining prespecified algorithm locking, independent blinded evaluation under honest-broker supervision, end point-based validation against histologically confirmed disease, and cross-platform generalization, Cytoreader-Fusion demonstrates robust and scalable automation of DS triage within HPV-based screening programs. • Integrated Microfluidic CRISPR-Based Diagnostic Device for Rapid Testing of HPVs. [Journal Article]
    Biosensors (Basel). 2026 Oct 11; 16(10).Wang T, Li L, … Wang SB
  • Screening for high-risk human papillomavirus (HR-HPV) is a pivotal strategy for the prevention of invasive cervical cancer, particularly in resource-constrained settings. In this study, we developed a CRISPR-based compact automated real-time detection system, termed Ccard, for rapid testing of HPV16, HPV18, and the internal reference gene GAPDH through a streamlined workflow. A simple room-temper…
  • Helicobacter pylori Infection - Advances, Challenges, and the Road Ahead. [Review]
    N Engl J Med. 2026 Oct 22; 395(16):1621-1633.Li H, Megraud F, Marshall BJNEJM
  • The discovery of Helicobacter pylori has revolutionized the prevention and treatment of gastritis, peptic ulcers, and, most important, gastric cancer. In the past 40 years, enormous progress has been achieved in the clinical and basic research on H. pylori infection. However, challenges in preventing and treating H. pylori infection exist owing to the lack of an H. pylori vaccine and the ever-inc…
  • Health Literacy and Colorectal Cancer: A Scoping Review Across the Cancer Care Continuum. [Review]
    Cancer Control. 2026 Jan-Dec; 33:10732748261481966.Tjader NP, Waldrup B, … Velazquez-Villarreal ECC
  • IntroductionHealth literacy is increasingly recognized as a critical determinant of cancer prevention, treatment adherence, and survivorship outcomes. In colorectal cancer (CRC), disparities in health literacy, particularly among ethnic minority and underserved populations, may contribute to reduced screening uptake, suboptimal treatment decisions, and poorer quality of life. Although numerous st…
