- Multistimuli-Responsive Nanoformulation Based on Polydopamine-Modified Alginate for the Controlled Release of Emamectin Benzoate with Enhanced Foliar Retention, UV Stability, and Insecticidal Activity. [Journal Article]J Agric Food Chem. 2026 Sep 25. [Online ahead of print]JA
- Polydopamine-functionalized sodium alginate nanoparticles (SA-PDAs) were fabricated through self-assembly of dopamine-modified sodium alginate with cetyltrimethylammonium bromide and Tween 80, followed by in situ oxidative polymerization. The nanoparticle served as an excellent carrier for the controlled release of emamectin benzoate (EB) with enhanced photostability and foliar adhesion. The rele…

- BAG3 coordinates astrocytic proteostasis of Alzheimer's disease-linked proteins via proteasome, autophagy, and retromer interactions. [Journal Article]Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A. 2026 Oct 06; 123(40):e2528514123.PN
- Bcl-2-associated athanogene 3 (BAG3) is a mediator of chaperone-assisted selective autophagy, and in the brain, is most highly expressed in astrocytes. However, its role in astrocytes remains poorly defined. Given the genetic and pathological links of BAG3 to proteostasis and neurodegenerative diseases, we investigated how BAG3 contributes to astrocyte function and Alzheimer's disease (AD). To de…

- Fasting Duration and Differences Across Routine Laboratory Tests. [Journal Article]JAMA Intern Med. 2026 Sep 28. [Online ahead of print]JIM
- CONCLUSIONS: This cross-sectional study found that fasting duration was associated with differences exceeding analytical performance specifications for only a few analytes, mainly glucose, triglycerides, γ-glutamyl transferase, and lipase. No estimable within-person difference between the 8- to 12-hour and more than 12-hour groups exceeded an available APS. These findings support analyte-specific rather than uniform fasting requirements.

- Targeting ClpP Rewires the Metabolic-Immune Axis in Acute Myeloid Leukemia. [Journal Article]Cancer Res. 2026 Sep 28. [Online ahead of print]CR
- Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) critically depends on oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS). Mitochondrial targeted therapies are advancing into clinical trials, but metabolic vulnerabilities have been primarily explored from a tumor-intrinsic perspective. Leukemic cells can actively reshape an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment through metabolic competition, highlighting the importance of evalua…

- Whole-larval innate immune-associated biochemical profiles during early ontogeny of silver pompano (Trachinotus blochii). [Journal Article]Fish Physiol Biochem. 2026 Sep 28; 52(5).FP
- Understanding the developmental dynamics of immune system is essential for improving larval health management. This study examined the ontogenetic patterns of seven innate immune-associated parameters, viz. albumin, protease, antiprotease, sialic acid, nitrite, nitric oxide synthase (NOS), and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) along with a general clinical indicator of health (total protein content) fro…

- Antifungal Potential of Peptide-Enriched Fractions Isolated from Capsicum frutescens Seeds Against Yeasts of the Genus Candida. [Journal Article]Probiotics Antimicrob Proteins. 2026 Sep 28. [Online ahead of print]PA
- The increasing emergence of drug-resistant fungal pathogens has heightened the search for new antimicrobial compounds with previously unexplored modes of action. Among candidate molecules for control of fungal diseases, plant antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) have attracted considerable interest because they are natural molecules with broad-spectrum inhibitory activities against microorganisms. In th…

- Stability of 54 biochemical analytes in capped serum samples stored at 4-8 °C: a 72-h longitudinal evaluation. [Journal Article]Clin Chem Lab Med. 2026 Sep 29. [Online ahead of print]CC
- CONCLUSIONS: Refrigerated storage at 4-8 °C ensures the analytical stability of 38 out of 54 biochemical analytes for up to 72 h, validation that safely covers typical weekend operational delays and requests for add-on testing. Nonetheless, specific time restrictions must be strictly enforced for the unstable analytes identified to guarantee clinical accuracy.

- E2F1 downregulation promotes lipid droplet accumulation and endometriosis development through impaired MGLL-mediated lipid mobilization. [Journal Article]Clin Sci (Lond). 2026 Sep 28. [Online ahead of print]CS
- Endometriosis is a common gynecological disease in which lipid metabolic dysregulation has been increasingly implicated. However, the specific metabolic changes in ectopic lesions and stromal cells remain poorly understood. It is also unclear whether these changes contribute to lipid droplet accumulation or how this process is controlled at the transcriptional level. Here, we report that ectopic …

- Ubiquitin-specific proteases (USPs) modulate diverse virus-host interaction events through deubiquitination; thus, investigating their functional roles and molecular targets facilitates the interpretation of viral pathogenic mechanisms and informs the design of anti-virus strategies. The deubiquitinase USP8 has been reported to antagonize HIV-1 replication by reversing Vif-mediated ubiquitination…
