- Current and Emerging Drug Therapy for Acne Vulgaris: A Comprehensive Review. [Journal Article]Recent Adv Antiinfect Drug Discov. 2026 Sep 29. [Online ahead of print]RA
- Acne vulgaris is a highly prevalent chronic inflammatory disorder of the pilosebaceous unit that affects the majority of adolescents and young adults. Its pathogenesis is multifactorial and is driven largely by hormonal dysregulation, which promotes excess sebum production and follicular hyperkeratinisation, resulting in pore occlusion and the characteristic inflammatory lesions accompanied by sw…

- Autoimmune Bullous Disorders Associated With Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors: A Retrospective Review of a Single Center Cohort Over the Past Decade. [Journal Article]Clin Exp Dermatol. 2026 Oct 01. [Online ahead of print]CE
- CONCLUSIONS: ICI-associated AIBDs are uncommon but clinically significant complications. Most patients in our cohort continued ICI therapy during management of their irAIBD, while others required temporary or permanent interruption. These findings highlight the importance of prompt recognition and multidisciplinary management of these uncommon toxicities.

- Should we be monitoring patients on systemic dermatologic therapies for psychiatric adverse effects?: a proposed clinical framework. [Review]J Dermatolog Treat. 2026 Dec; 37(1):2734960.JD
- CONCLUSIONS: Overall, psychiatric adverse effects represent an important consideration in the use of systemic dermatologic therapies. Awareness of these potential complications, coupled with appropriate screening and monitoring, is essential for early recognition and effective management. Improved understanding of medication-related psychiatric effects can help dermatologists optimize treatment outcomes while enhancing patient safety.

- Antimicrobial resistance surveillance: a crucial pillar for sustainable leprosy control and chemoprophylaxis. [Review]Lancet Microbe. 2026 Sep 23; :101514. [Online ahead of print]LM
- Leprosy, also known as Hansen´s disease, remains a public health concern, with around 200 000 new cases reported worldwide each year. Recent strategies to reduce transmission include post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) with single-dose rifampicin, which has shown moderate protective efficacy and is being increasingly implemented on scale. However, widespread rifampicin use outside combination therapy…

- Anti-p200 pemphigoid is a rare autoimmune subepidermal blistering disease with limited evidence guiding its management. We report a 49-year-old woman with refractory anti-p200 pemphigoid who failed treatment with high-dose prednisone and dapsone and developed significant corticosteroid-related toxicity, including hypertension, hypertrichosis, steroid-induced myopathy, and psychological distress. …

- Histopathologically Confirmed Nasal Rhinosporidiosis in an Adolescent Male Presenting with Long-Standing Right-Sided Nasal Obstruction and Epistaxis: A Case Report. [Case Reports]
- CONCLUSIONS: Nasal rhinosporidiosis should be considered in patients with long-standing unilateral nasal obstruction, recurrent epistaxis, and pond-water exposure. Complete surgical excision with cauterization and continued postoperative surveillance are important, particularly when histological margins are involved.

- JAK Inhibitors in Colchicine Resistant FMF Patients: A Case-Based Review. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: JAK inhibitor therapy was associated with rapid, complete, and sustained remission in adults with colchicine-resistant FMF. These findings support the growing evidence that JAK inhibition may offer an effective oral alternative to biologics in refractory FMF.

- Treatment strategies for interstitial granulomatous dermatitis: Systematic review and expert opinion. [Review]J Eur Acad Dermatol Venereol. 2026 Sep 17. [Online ahead of print]JE
- CONCLUSIONS: Optimal management of IGD relies on an aetiology-oriented approach. Withdrawal of causative drugs represents the most effective intervention when applicable. Topical and systemic corticosteroids remain first-line therapies; immunomodulatory and biologic agents are reserved for refractory disease.

- Classical sulfonamides share a formal SO2NH motif, yet their molecular environments impose distinct frontier-orbital responses. We examined thirteen classical sulfonamides and dapsone using a staged, quality-controlled workflow that separated exploratory GFN2-xTB/Composite-SEPI (the study-specific exploratory electronic-prioritization score) screening from full-panel B3LYP-D3BJ/def2-SVP optimizat…

- Repurposing antimicrobial agents for neuroprotection: Mechanisms, clinical potential, and challenges. [Review]
- Antimicrobial agents, originally developed for infectious diseases, have become attractive candidates for repurposing in neurodegenerative and neuroinflammatory diseases owing to their anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, immunomodulatory, and neuroprotective activities. In this review, we critically examine the therapeutic potential of selected antimicrobial classes, including tetracyclines (e.g., mi…

- [Bullous eruption in the elderly - a case report with diagnostic challenges]. [Case Reports]Praxis (Bern 1994). 2026 Aug; 115(8):236-239.P
- We report the case of an 88-year-old female patient presenting with progressive, severely pruritic skin lesions and scattered blisters on the trunk and extremities. Histological examination revealed subepidermal blister formation with a neutrophil-rich infiltrate. Differentiation from other autoimmune blistering diseases was initially challenging. The diagnosis was ultimately guided by the linear…

- Lupus Miliaris Disseminatus Faciei as a Diagnostic and Therapeutic Challenge in Facial Dermatoses. [Case Reports]
- Lupus miliaris disseminatus faciei (LMDF) is a rare inflammatory granulomatous dermatosis of unknown etiology, primarily affecting young adults. It presents as a symmetric papular eruption, predominantly on the mid-facial region, often leading to unsightly depressed scars. We report the case of a 28-year-old woman with persistent facial papules evolving into atrophic scars. Dermoscopy showed oran…

- Etiology of methemoglobinemia in the National Poison Data System®: an observational study. [Journal Article]Clin Toxicol (Phila). 2026 Sep 02; :1-7. [Online ahead of print]CT
- CONCLUSIONS: Non-pharmaceutical nitrates/nitrites were the leading causes of methemoglobinemia, methylene blue use, and mortality Other leading contributors included both classically recognized causes of methemoglobinemia, as well as xenobiotics not commonly associated with the condition. These findings underscore the need for further research on xenobiotics associated with methemoglobinemia and heightened awareness of both established and emerging etiologies.
