- Histopathologically Confirmed Nasal Rhinosporidiosis in an Adolescent Male Presenting with Long-Standing Right-Sided Nasal Obstruction and Epistaxis: A Case Report. [Case Reports]
- CONCLUSIONS: Nasal rhinosporidiosis should be considered in patients with long-standing unilateral nasal obstruction, recurrent epistaxis, and pond-water exposure. Complete surgical excision with cauterization and continued postoperative surveillance are important, particularly when histological margins are involved.

- Behind the Unilateral Rhinorrhea: Delayed Pediatric Intranasal Foreign Bodies Presenting as Chronic Sinonasal Disease and Severe Complications. [Journal Article]
- Background and Clinical Significance: Intranasal foreign bodies are common pediatric otolaryngologic emergencies and are usually diagnosed and removed without difficulty. However, delayed or occult retention may mimic chronic unilateral sinonasal disease and occasionally result in severe inflammatory or infectious complications. This study presents three illustrative pediatric cases of delayed in…

- Sinonasal glomangiopericytoma presenting as refractory epistaxis: imaging, embolisation and pathological correlation. [Case Reports]BMJ Case Rep. 2026 Aug 14; 19(8).BC
- We describe a case of sinonasal glomangiopericytoma (GPC), a rare perivascular tumour accounting for less than 0.5% of sinonasal neoplasms, presenting with refractory unilateral epistaxis. An anticoagulated male in his 60s required admission, nasal packing and unilateral left internal maxillary artery embolisation to achieve haemostasis.Following stabilisation, nasoendoscopy identified a vascular…

- Schneiderian inverted papilloma is a benign, locally aggressive tumor that typically arises in the respiratory mucosa of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses. These tumors are often asymptomatic but can cause unilateral nasal obstruction, discharge, hyposmia and epistaxis. They warrant attention particularly due to the potential for malignant transformation. They are treated most often with sur…

- Recognition of ear, nose and throat involvement in patients with ANCA-associated vasculitis: from in-depth interviews to insights for the future. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Key indicators of AAV activity include nasal crusting, lack of response to conventional treatment, systemic symptoms, nasal crusting, mucosal haemorrhaging and septal perforation. These data may facilitate the establishment of a standardized scoring system to optimize diagnostic accuracy and disease monitoring.

- DEK::AFF2 Fusion Sinonasal Tract and Skull Base Nonkeratinizing Squamous Cell Carcinoma : An Expanded Single‑Center Series of 50 Cases Extending the Clinicopathologic Spectrum. [Journal Article]
- DEK::AFF2 fusion‑positive sinonasal tract and skull base nonkeratinizing squamous cell carcinoma (DEK::AFF2 SCC) is a rare and recently recognized entity; however, its clinicopathologic and demographic features remain incompletely defined. We aimed to further refine and supplement the characterization of this entity. We retrieved institutional pathology records and identified 50 DEK::AFF2 SCCs at…

- Nasal Leech in a Child. [Journal Article]Ear Nose Throat J. 2026 Jul 08; :1455613261467099. [Online ahead of print]EN
- The common causes of epistaxis in children are mostly local mucosal dryness, trauma, or inflammation, while epistaxis caused by leech infestation is clinically rare and easily overlooked. This article reports a case of epistaxis in a child due to leeches and, combined with a literature review, analyzes its clinical characteristics and key points of diagnosis and treatment. Children often present …

- Efficacy and Safety of Balloon Dilatation of the Eustachian Tube in Children With Eustachian Tube Dysfunction: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis. [Review]Cureus. 2026 May; 18(5):e109250.C
- The meta-analysis and systematic review evaluated the efficacy and safety of balloon dilatation of the eustachian tube (BDET) in children with eustachian tube dysfunction. The PubMed, Cochrane Library, and ScienceDirect databases were searched in depth to identify relevant studies, and eight retrospective cohort studies were selected. A total of 652 patients were included in these studies. There …

- Implementing a Neonatal and Paediatric Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) Service in a Tertiary Children's Hospital in the United Kingdom: A Retrospective Clinical Audit. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: A neonatal and paediatric FEES service can be safely implemented in a UK tertiary hospital using a joint SLT and ENT model. Simultaneous upper airway examination alongside FEES provided clinically meaningful information that frequently changed management. Findings support further multicentre work to establish national paediatric FEES pathways.

- Head and Neck Manifestations in Sarcoidosis: An All of Us Research Program Matched Case-Control Study. [Journal Article]OTO Open. 2026; 10(2):e70265.OO
- CONCLUSIONS: Patients with sarcoidosis are significantly more likely to be diagnosed with sinonasal symptoms, airway and swallowing symptoms, and cranial nerve pathologies with prevalence rates higher than previously reported. Sarcoidosis of the upper airway is likely underdiagnosed and consequently undertreated, necessitating greater awareness and further exploration of the etiology of upper airway symptoms in patients with sarcoidosis.
