- Lamotrigine-associated SJS/TEN overlap during valproate co-therapy managed with rhTNFR-Fc and therapeutic plasma exchange: A case report. [Case Reports]Medicine (Baltimore). 2026 Oct 09; 105(41):e51050.M
- CONCLUSIONS: This case illustrates the evolution from a severe drug eruption to SJS/TEN overlap, reinforces the importance of reduced lamotrigine starting doses and slow titration during valproate co-therapy, and provides a clinical example of stepwise multidisciplinary rescue management in relapsing disease.

- Bone and growth safety profiles of biologic and conventional DMARDs in juvenile idiopathic arthritis: a 21-year FAERS disproportionality analysis. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Methotrexate was the only drug with robust bone and growth signals, supporting skeletal and growth surveillance during chronic therapy; three biologics showed bone-toxicity signals. In this cohort, conventional PS + SS analysis substantially overstated signal magnitudes, supporting dual-track (PS + SS and PS-only) reporting for pediatric pharmacovigilance.

- Clinico-Radiologic Spectrum and Outcomes of Chronic Non-Infectious Osteomyelitis: Experience from India. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: More than half of the patients were treated as presumed infectious osteomyelitis before the definitive diagnosis of CNO. In the present series, 65.3% CNO lesions involved the metaphysis (42.5%) or meta-diaphysis (22.8%) of long bones. 18.1% lesions were restricted to diaphysis in isolation.

- Combined Anti-inflammatory and Anti-depressant Treatment Reduces Pain and Spinal Cord Nociceptive and Inflammatory Markers in a Rat Discogenic Pain Model. [Journal Article]Osteoarthritis Cartilage. 2026 Sep 30. [Online ahead of print]OC
- CONCLUSIONS: Combined Etanercept and Duloxetine treatment improved pain and reduced spinal cord nociceptive and neuroinflammatory markers, suggesting dual-target pharmacotherapy may be a promising strategy for chronic discogenic pain.

- Male sexual dysfunction associated with TNF-α inhibitors: an indication-stratified global pharmacovigilance analysis. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: MSD reporting with TNF-α inhibitors may vary by clinical indication rather than represent a uniform class-wide pattern. The AS findings warrant cautious interpretation because both agents showed indication-level signals without a significant between-drug difference or positive PT-specific signals. These findings are hypothesis-generating and require prospective confirmation.

- The PESTO trial's claim to provide Class I evidence that perispinal etanercept does not improve quality of life is precluded by the absence of publicly verifiable trial-wide inclusion/exclusion criteria and by its use of a novel primary responder definition that utilizes a non-accepted scoring pathway, of no established validity or reliability, that was first specified after data collection was c…

- Differential Expression of Visfatin, Sirtuin-1, and Interleukin-18 in Ankylosing Spondylitis Patients: A Comparative Study of Etanercept-Treated versus Newly Diagnosed Patients. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Etanercept significantly upregulates SIRT-1 expression while suppressing IL-18 and visfatin levels in AS patients, highlighting its pleiotropic anti-inflammatory mechanisms beyond TNF-α blockade. These findings provide novel insights into the molecular pathways modulated by anti-TNF therapy, particularly the interplay between SIRT1-mediated epigenetic regulation and adipokine-driven inflammation.

- Tip-retained hydrated silk fibroin microneedles for sustained local delivery of TNF-α antagonist in psoriasis treatment. [Journal Article]
- Psoriasis is a chronic immune-mediated inflammatory skin disease characterized by keratinocyte hyperproliferation and cytokine-driven immune activation, in which TNF-α plays a central pathogenic role. We developed a layered hydrated silk fibroin (SF) microneedle system (ETA@Hyd MN) with SF tips loaded with etanercept (ETA, a TNF-α inhibitor for psoriasis), for local cutaneous delivery to reduce s…

- Differential effects of N-acetylmannosamine on O-glycan sialylation of therapeutic Fc-fusion glycoproteins in CHO and HEK293 cells. [Journal Article]J Biotechnol. 2026 Sep 17; 420:147-152. [Online ahead of print]JB
- Sialylation is a critical quality attribute of therapeutic glycoproteins, yet strategies to specifically modulate O-glycan sialylation remain underdeveloped compared to N-glycosylation. While N-acetylmannosamine (ManNAc) is widely utilized as an established enhancer of N-glycan sialylation, its efficacy in modulating O-glycan structures has remained largely unexplored across different mammalian h…

- Elevated glucose in kidney organoids induces tissue-intrinsic inflammation driving epithelial detachment. [Journal Article]
- Diabetic kidney disease involves hyperglycemia, inflammation, and epithelial cell dysfunction, but the relationship between these factors is not well understood. We demonstrate that human kidney organoids treated with elevated glucose exhibit a phenotype of epithelial detachment driven by tissue-intrinsic upregulation of proinflammatory cytokines, which can be targeted therapeutically. High gluco…

- Drugs associated with retroperitoneal fibrosis: assessment of the 1969-2025 Food and Drug Administration (FDA) pharmacovigilance database. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: This pharmacovigilance analysis identified multiple medications, spanning different therapeutic classes, that demonstrated a disproportionate association with reports of RPF. Notably, some drugs with well-established safety profiles also emerged as potential signals, warranting increased clinical awareness. While this analysis reveals pharmacovigilance signals suggestive of drug-induced RPF, the observational nature of FAERS data limits causal inference. These findings underscore the need for further clinical research and mechanistic studies to better understand the etiopathogenic role of these agents in RPF development.

- Biologic and targeted synthetic therapies in ankylosing spondylitis: a pharmacological review. [Review]
- Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a prototypical axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) defined by chronic inflammatory back pain, progressive spinal stiffness, and frequent extra-articular manifestations such as acute anterior uveitis (21%-33%), inflammatory bowel disease (5%-10%), and psoriasis (4%-13%). Management has shifted from non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) to highly targeted biologi…
