- Prevalence and Associated Factors of Erectile Dysfunction Among Filipino Men With Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in a Tertiary Hospital in San Juan City, Metro Manila, Philippines. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: ED was highly prevalent among Filipino men with T2DM included in this study. Dyslipidemia and socioeconomic status were independently associated with ED and may help identify patients who could benefit from more thorough screening. Further studies involving larger cohorts and improved sampling methods are needed to validate these findings and better understand the factors underlying the high prevalence of ED observed in this population.

- Cross-Sectional Study of the PREValence of Erectile DysfunctIon in the Arteriopathic Population (PREVEDI). [Journal Article]Andrology. 2026 Sep 26. [Online ahead of print]A
- CONCLUSIONS: ED is highly prevalent among patients with clinically overt atherosclerotic disease requiring vascular surgery referral, and may represent a marker of systemic vascular pathology. Routine assessment of sexual function may improve cardiovascular risk stratification and preventive management.

- Angiotensin (1-7) improves diabetes mellitus-induced erectile dysfunction in rats by modulating the Cav-1/eNOS signaling pathway. [Journal Article]
- Diabetes mellitus-induced erectile dysfunction (DMED) is a common complication of diabetes and is often associated with impaired nitric oxide (NO) signaling and increased oxidative stress. Angiotensin (1-7) (Ang (1-7)) has been reported to exert protective effects in cardiovascular and metabolic disorders; however, its role and underlying mechanisms in DMED remain incompletely understood. This st…

- Guanxinning Tablet Ameliorates Erectile Dysfunction in Diabetes Mellitus Rats with Involvement of PI3K/Akt/FOXO1 Signaling Pathway Modulation. [Journal Article]
- Background/Objectives: Diabetes mellitus-induced erectile dysfunction (DMED) is characterized by severe endothelial and smooth-muscle dysfunction and reduced responsiveness to conventional therapy. Guanxinning tablet (GXN), a traditional Chinese medicine compound containing Salvia miltiorrhiza (Danshen) and Ligusticum stratum (Chuanxiong), has vascular-protective and anti-oxidative properties, bu…

- From Prenatal Exposure to Adult Sexual Dysfunction: The Impact of Plastic-Derived Endocrine Disruptors on Testosterone Homeostasis and Erectile Function. [Review]
- Bisphenols, phthalates, and other plastic-associated compounds are endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), common environmental contaminants that can disrupt hormonal homeostasis. Human exposure to such chemicals occurs mainly through food packaging, consumer goods, medical devices, and the environment, starting right from early development stages up to adulthood. These chemicals might cause damag…

- Can Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 Receptor Agonists or Sodium-Glucose Cotransporter 2 Inhibitors Be Considered New Treatment Options for Male Hypogonadism and Sexual Dysfunction? [Review]World J Mens Health. 2026 Aug 06. [Online ahead of print]WJ
- The use of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP1-RAs) and sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2is) resulted in weight loss and long-term cardiovascular (CV) and renal safety preservation. Their role in male sexual hormones and behavior is still not sufficiently investigated. This paper aims at summarizing the effects of GLP1-RA and SGLT2i on obesity-associated hypogonadism an…

- Low measured free testosterone is associated with worse sexual function in community-dwelling men. [Journal Article]Eur J Endocrinol. 2026 Aug 03; 195(2):293-301.EJ
- CONCLUSIONS: In community-dwelling men, lower mFT was associated with worse erectile function, fewer sexual intercourse attempts, reduced orgasm frequency, and lower sexual desire, with apparent non-linear thresholds for erectile dysfunction and orgasm frequency at 163 and 138 pmol/L, respectively.

- Impairment in the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis in males with medullary thyroid carcinoma treated with selpercatinib. [Journal Article]J Clin Endocrinol Metab. 2026 Jul 23. [Online ahead of print]JC
- CONCLUSIONS: ED shows high prevalence and early onset in males with MTC treated with selpercatinib. Impairment in the HPG axis and semen analysis can reflect damage to Sertoli and Leydig cells, leading to hypogonadism. Therefore, HPG axis evaluation and fertility counseling could be advisable mainly in childbearing males before starting selpercatinib.

- In-Depth optimization and characterization of prostatic and penile vessel imaging with Ferumoxytol-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Ferumoxytol-enhanced MRA shows promise for visualizing major prostatic and penile vessels relevant to ED diagnosis and management, including the accessory pudendal and internal pudendal arteries. Further anthropomorphic phantom refinement and in vivo patient studies are warranted to evaluate broader anatomic variability and clinical feasibility.

- Non-linear relationships between inflammatory indices and erectile dysfunction in a group of young men living with HIV. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: In contrast to findings in the general population, no significant associations were observed between ED and inflammation-based indices in our cohort, potentially reflecting HIV-specific mechanisms or age-related differences in index expression. These results support the relevance of non-inflammatory contributors to ED in yMLWH and emphasize the need for multidisciplinary assessment.
