- A Physiologically Based Pharmacokinetic Model to Predict Potential Drug-Drug Interactions of TPN171, a Novel Phosphodiesterase Type 5 Inhibitor. [Journal Article]CPT Pharmacometrics Syst Pharmacol. 2026 Aug; 15(8):e70298.CP
- TPN171 is a potent phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension and erectile dysfunction, primarily metabolized by CYP3A4. This study aimed to evaluate its drug-drug interaction (DDI) potential and determine the optimal dosing when co-administered with CYP3A4 modulators. A physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) model was developed and validated using clin…

- Radiation-induced erectile dysfunction in prostate cancer: A systematic review of pathophysiology, clinical radiobiology, and predictive modeling. [Review]Phys Med. 2026 Jul 17; 148:105892. [Online ahead of print]PM
- CONCLUSIONS: RIED is a multifactorial toxicity for which robust radiobiological parameters and clinically validated prediction tools are still lacking. Standardized contouring, validated patient-reported outcomes and adequately powered multi-institutional studies integrating clinical, dosimetric and biological variables are needed to refine dose constraints and improve individualized risk prediction.

- Efficacy and safety of oral finasteride versus dutasteride in moderate-to-severe androgenetic alopecia in males based on trichoscopic and laboratory findings: a clinical comparison in Iran. [Randomized Controlled Trial]J Dermatolog Treat. 2026 Dec; 37(1):2583849.JD
- CONCLUSIONS: Finasteride and dutasteride improved hair density with similar safety. Dutasteride caused stronger PSA reduction, suggesting more potent 5-alpha-reductase inhibition.

- Erectile dysfunction severity and penile Doppler findings in pelvic fracture urethral injury: A descriptive cohort study. [Journal Article]Indian J Urol. 2026; 42(3):207-212.IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: ED and penile Doppler abnormalities are highly prevalent after PFUI. ED severity correlated with pelvic injury severity, supporting the concept that ED reflects global trauma burden rather than isolated vascular pathology. Given the retrospective design and routine postoperative use of PDE5 inhibitors, these findings should be considered descriptive and hypothesis-generating.

- Urological Complications of Morbid Obesity and the Role of Bariatric Surgery and Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 Receptor Agonists in Their Management: A Systematic Review. [Review]Cureus. 2026 Jun; 18(6):e110952.C
- Morbid obesity (body mass index (BMI) ≥40 kg/m² or ≥35 kg/m² with comorbidities) predisposes patients to multiple urological disorders, including urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, erectile dysfunction, hypogonadism, nephrolithiasis, obesity-related kidney disease, renal cell carcinoma, and aggressive prostate cancer. Bariatric surgery is the most effective durable treatment for severe obe…

- Association between autoimmune diseases and male reproductive health: A mendelian randomization study. [Journal Article]Sci Prog. 2026 Jul-Sep; 109(3):368504261466825.SP
- ObjectiveThe relationship between autoimmune diseases (ADs) and male reproductive health is easily neglected. Epidemiological studies indicated that multiple ADs may adversely affect male reproductive health. This study aimed to explore the causal relationship between ADs and erectile dysfunction (ED), abnormal spermatozoa, and sex hormones using Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis.MethodsWe se…

- SAPOC technique for length restoration in complex Peyronie's disease and erectile dysfunction at the time of penile prosthesis placement. [Journal Article]
- Severe Peyronie's disease with concomitant erectile dysfunction remains surgically challenging, particularly in patients with significant curvature and penile shortening undergoing inflatable penile prosthesis implantation. We describe the SAPOC (Slices Around the Point of maximal Curvature) technique, a modification of the Multiple-Slit Technique, designed to permit length restoration while limi…

- The Evolution of Nerve-Sparing Radical Prostatectomy: Mechanisms of Injury, Economic Impact, and the Potential Value of Intraoperative Nerve Visualization. [Review]J Clin Med. 2026 Jun 26; 15(13).JC
- Background/Objectives: Iatrogenic nerve injury is a significant challenge in urologic surgery, with radical prostatectomy posing a high risk due to complex pelvic neural anatomy. Despite advances in robotic-assisted and nerve-sparing techniques, postoperative urinary incontinence and erectile dysfunction remain prevalent, adversely affecting patients' quality of life and imposing substantial heal…

- Background/Objective: The psychosexual burden of human papillomavirus (HPV)-induced genital warts (GWs) in men remains underexplored. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of sexual dysfunction in men with GWs and to evaluate the effects of disease duration and condom use on the sexual cycle using the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-15). - Support Strategies to Enhance Adherence to a Prescription Digital Therapeutic for Erectile Dysfunction: Retrospective Quasi-Experimental Cohort Study. [Journal Article]JMIR Mhealth Uhealth. 2026 Jul 14; 14:e76724.JM
- CONCLUSIONS: Inactivity-triggered supports in a real-world ED DiGA reactivated use after lapses, and telephone outreach increased motivation to continue, while effects on weekly dose were small and not significant after adjustment, and clinical outcomes did not differ over 12 weeks. Programs may consider a stepped approach (SMS first-line nudge and call as escalation) and target system bottlenecks that decouple motivation from realized continuation. Further work should test longer-term outcomes, targeting, and generalizability.

- Prevalence of erectile dysfunction and its associated factors among hypertensive men in Africa: a systematic review and meta-analysis. [Systematic Review]Sex Med Rev. 2026 Jun 30; 14(3).SM
- CONCLUSIONS: In Africa, ED is highly prevalent in men with hypertension. Comorbid conditions, depression, antihypertensive polytherapy, advanced age, Stage II hypertension, and hypertension that has been present for more than 10 years are important factors linked to ED. Routine screening and integrated management strategies should be incorporated into hypertension care. In addition, further population-based studies using standardized methodologies are necessary to refine prevalence estimates and guide public health interventions.
