Comorbid conditions, depression, antihypertensive polytherapy, advanced age, Stage II hypertension, and hypertension that has been present for more than 10 years are important factors linked to ED. Routine screening and integrated management strategies should be incorporated into hypertension care. In addition, further population-based studies using standardized methodologies are necessary to refine prevalence estimates and guide public health interventions.
