- Vitamin D deficiency is common in Hashimoto's thyroiditis, while VDR FokI shows subtype-specific association with gravis disease in Jordan: a case-control study. [Journal Article]Clin Chim Acta. 2026 Aug 15; :121284. [Online ahead of print]CC
- CONCLUSIONS: VD deficiency may act as a general susceptibility factor in HT, while FokI may confer subtype-specific susceptibility to GD independent of a broader VDR-AITD association.

- Clinical value of artificial intelligence ultrasound-assisted diagnostic system in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant thyroid nodules: A retrospective case-control study. [Journal Article]Medicine (Baltimore). 2026 Aug 14; 105(33):e50126.M
- Accurately distinguishing the benign thyroid nodules (BTNs) and malignant thyroid nodules (MTNs) is crucial for treatment planning and prognosis. This study aims to explore the clinical value of artificial intelligence ultrasound-assisted diagnostic system (AI-UADS) in diagnosing the BTNs and MTNs. In this retrospective case-control study, a total of 161 TNs from 91 patients confirmed by surgical…

- Adaptive immune dysregulation drives new-onset refractory status epilepticus. [Review]
- New-onset refractory status epilepticus (NORSE) is a life-threatening neurological condition that emerges abruptly in individuals without a prior history of epilepsy and is characterised by seizures that are refractory to standard antiseizure medications. NORSE is associated with high mortality and long-term neurological deficits, and autoimmune encephalitis (AIE) represents a major identifiable …

- The effect of normothermic machine perfusion on acute kidney injury following liver transplantation: a propensity score-matched, retrospective, single-centre, cohort study. [Journal Article]
- Normothermic machine perfusion (NMP) is increasingly used for liver transplantation, but its effect on post-transplantation acute kidney injury (AKI), especially in recipients with renal dysfunction, remains unclear. We evaluated whether NMP was associated with lower early renal injury after deceased donor liver transplantation compared with static cold storage (SCS), including recipients with pr…

- Predictive value of conventional ultrasonographic features combined with clinical factors for capsular invasion in papillary thyroid carcinoma with Hashimoto's thyroiditis. [Journal Article]
- This retrospective study aimed to investigate the predictive value of conventional ultrasonographic features combined with clinical factors for capsular invasion in patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) with concurrent Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT). A total of 262 patients with pathologically confirmed PTC and concurrent HT who underwent surgery at our institution from January 2018 to Ju…

- Factors Associated with Glucocorticoid Withdrawal in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus: A Multicentre ANSWER-SLE Cohort. [Journal Article]Mod Rheumatol. 2026 Aug 13. [Online ahead of print]MR
- CONCLUSIONS: GC withdrawal may be achievable in selected patients with SLE, particularly those receiving HCQ, MMF, and belimumab, and in patients with an older age at disease onset.

- Incidence, Patterns and Predictors of Alemtuzumab-Induced Thyroid Dysfunction in Patients With Multiple Sclerosis: A Northern Ireland Cohort Study. [Journal Article]Clin Endocrinol (Oxf). 2026 Aug 13. [Online ahead of print]CE
- CONCLUSIONS: The frequency of Alemtuzumab-induced TD in our cohort was similar to that reported in other literature and the nature of TD varied with a number of patients fluctuating between dysthyroid states. This data highlights the importance of close surveillance for TD due to the risk of complex, late-onset autoimmunity.

- Development and performance evaluation of a risk assessment model for cervical lymph node metastasis in patients with Hashimoto's thyroiditis coexisting with papillary thyroid carcinoma. [Journal Article]Gland Surg. 2026 Jul 31; 15(7):190.GS
- CONCLUSIONS: We developed a Clin-US model that combines clinical data and ultrasound for predicting lymph node metastasis in PTC patients with concurrent HT. The model demonstrated promising diagnostic performance and may assist clinicians in preoperative risk stratification, facilitating individualized treatment decisions for this population.

- Influence of Vitamin E Intake on Sexual Function and Depressive Symptoms in Young Women with Euthyroid Autoimmune Thyroiditis Undergoing Vitamin D Therapy: A Pilot Study. [Journal Article]
- Euthyroid autoimmune thyroiditis (Hashimoto's disease) has been shown to negatively affect female sexual health; however, this adverse impact appears to be mitigated by vitamin D therapy. Emerging research suggests that vitamin E may reduce susceptibility to autoimmune thyroiditis and that supplementation could contribute to improved sexual health outcomes. The present study aimed to investigate …

- Endocytoscopic Classification Is Associated with Mucosal miR-192-5p Downregulation and CXCL2 Expression in Ulcerative Colitis: An Exploratory Study. [Journal Article]
- Background/Objectives: Ultra-high-magnification endoscopy (Endocyto) visualizes microscopic mucosal structures and has been proposed as a tool for assessing mucosal inflammation. We previously developed an endocytoscopic classification system (EC-A to EC-D) for grading the severity of inflammation. In this study, we investigated the relationship between endocytoscopic classification and microRNA …

- Development and validation of a predictive model for complications in robotic thyroid surgery. [Journal Article]
- Robotic thyroid surgery (RTS) has gained popularity due to its minimal invasiveness and improved cosmetic outcomes. However, complications like hypoparathyroidism, bleeding, and infection can occur before surgeons' learning curve completion. The purpose of present research is to develop and validate a predictive model for complications in RTS prior to their learning curve completion. We retrospec…

- Fertility Treatments and the Risk of Kawasaki Disease Among Offspring. [Multicenter Study]
- CONCLUSIONS: In this nationwide birth cohort study, all fertility treatments except intracytoplasmic sperm injection were associated with an increased risk of Kawasaki disease among offspring. These findings warrant further studies to clarify the underlying mechanisms.

- Development and validation of the BRAF[V600E] prediction model from clinical and ultrasound features in papillary thyroid carcinoma: a large cohort study. [Journal Article]Ann Med Surg (Lond). 2026 Aug; 88(8):5020-5027.AM
- CONCLUSIONS: The nomogram, based on Hashimoto's thyroiditis, echogenicity, shape, and echogenic foci, demonstrates good performance in predicting the BRAF[V600E] mutation in PTC. The model may serve as a useful tool for individualized risk assessment in PTC patients.

- Association between autoimmune thyroiditis and clinicopathological features of papillary thyroid carcinoma: a prospective study. [Journal Article]Arch Endocrinol Metab. 2026 Aug 11; 70(5):e260090.AE
- CONCLUSIONS: The coexistence of thyroiditis in patients with PTC was associated with more favorable clinicopathological features. However, no significant differences were observed in major oncological outcomes, and the short follow-up period limits the assessment of long-term prognosis. These findings suggest an association with less aggressive initial presentation rather than a definitive prognostic impact.

- Impact of dermatology targeted immunotherapies on autoimmune thyroid diseases: cytokine-network crosstalk and thyroid safety. [Review]Front Immunol. 2026; 17:1890822.FI
- Autoimmune thyroid diseases (AITDs), including Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) and Graves' disease (GD), affect approximately 2-5% of the global population. They are the most common organ-specific autoimmune disorders worldwide. Growing epidemiological and immunological evidence indicates that AITDs frequently coexist with immune-mediated dermatological diseases. These include atopic dermatitis (AD)…
