- Double autoimmune endocrinopathies: concurrent presentation of latent autoimmune diabetes in adults and Graves disease. [Case Reports]JCEM Case Rep. 2026 Sep; 4(9):luag219.JC
- Latent autoimmune diabetes in adults (LADA) and Graves disease (GD) may coexist due to shared autoimmune mechanisms and genetic susceptibility. We report a 39-year-old woman with class III obesity who presented with palpitations, blurry vision, and hypertension. Evaluation revealed new-onset diabetes (hemoglobin A1c 8.3% [SI: 67 mmol/mol]; reference range, 4.6-6.4% [SI: 27-46 mmol/mol]) and hyper…

- Evaluation of Radioiodine (I-131) Therapy Success in Different Etiological Forms of Hyperthyroidism and Analysis of Response According to Administered Dose. [Journal Article]Cureus. 2026 Jul; 18(7):e113135.C
- CONCLUSIONS: Doses below 20 mCi, particularly 10 mCi, are associated with unacceptably high failure rates. Multinodular and diffuse forms of hyperthyroidism require higher ablative activities between 20 and 25 mCi.

- Prognostic Significance of Serum Thyroglobulin Levels and Clinical Factors in Assessing the Efficacy of Radioiodine Therapy in Patients With Hyperthyroidism. [Journal Article]Cureus. 2026 Jul; 18(7):e113129.C
- CONCLUSIONS: Pre-treatment thyroglobulin level and older age are independent and statistically significant predictors of poorer outcome, while longer disease duration showed a trend toward significance (p = 0.06). Patients with elevated Tg levels and a prolonged disease history may warrant consideration for higher initial radioiodine activity, pending further validation.

- Predictors of atherosclerosis and dyslipidaemia among patients with thyroid disease: a cross-sectional analysis. [Journal Article]Front Endocrinol (Lausanne). 2026; 17:1814468.FE
- CONCLUSIONS: Overt hypothyroidism was associated with early atherosclerotic changes and dyslipidaemia in this exploratory single-centre cohort. Anti-TPO antibodies correlated with CIMT and were associated with elevated total cholesterol in an adjusted model, but the imprecision of the estimate and cross-sectional design mean that these findings should be considered hypothesis-generating and require prospective external validation before clinical implementation.

- Limited English Proficiency and Definitive Management for Graves' Disease. [Journal Article]J Surg Res. 2026 Aug 21; 326:963-968. [Online ahead of print]JS
- CONCLUSIONS: Patients with LEP and GD are more likely to receive definitive treatment and experience shorter time from diagnosis to surgery. This association, which is certainly multifactorial, highlights the importance of strategies to enhance shared decision-making in multilingual clinical settings.

- The Hidden Crisis: A Rare Case of Thyrotoxicosis in a Young Female, Mimicking Neuromuscular Disease. [Case Reports]
- Thyrotoxic periodic paralysis (TPP) is a rare but life-threatening cause of acute flaccid paralysis associated with hypokalemia. Although more common in males and individuals of Asian descent, it may present atypically in young females and be easily misdiagnosed. We report a case of a 30-year-old female who presented with acute quadriparesis. Extensive neuromuscular evaluation initially pointed t…

- Endocrine disease and pregnancy loss - a nationwide cohort study. [Journal Article]Fertil Steril. 2026 Aug 20. [Online ahead of print]FS
- CONCLUSIONS: Endocrine diseases and pregnancy loss were strongly associated regardless of temporal order, with progressively stronger associations across increasing numbers of pregnancy losses, with significant familial clustering independent of personal diagnosis, suggesting shared genetic or environmental factors. Our findings support consideration of targeted endocrine evaluation in women with pregnancy loss. Further research should determine optimal screening strategies and timing.

- Trends in Pharmacological, Radioactive Iodine, and Surgical Treatments for Hyperthyroidism in Japan: A Decade-Long Nationwide Claims-Based Analysis (2014-2023). [Journal Article]Intern Med. 2026 Aug 19. [Online ahead of print]IM
- CONCLUSIONS: Over the past decade, hyperthyroidism management in Japan has shifted toward MMI consolidation, expanded KI use in the super-elderly population, declining RAI therapy in broad-aged populations, and increasing surgery in older adults. These age-dependent treatment shifts reflect the evolving clinical practice and therapeutic challenges posed by a rapidly aging society.

- Nanoperlite Particles Enhance Fibrogenesis in Thyroid Orbital Fibroblasts: A Potential Activated Cell Source for Ocular Tissue Engineering. [Journal Article]
- Fibroblasts are crucial in tissue engineering because of their ability to synthesize the extracellular matrix (ECM) and secrete growth factors. Orbital fibroblasts (OFs) from patients with thyroid eye disease (TED) exhibit enhanced fibroblastic properties, making them ideal candidates for regenerative medicine in ocular tissue. In the present study, we investigated the effect of nanoperlite on TE…

- Menopausal Transition and Thyroid Function Trajectories: A Large-Scale Longitudinal Study of Healthy Women. [Journal Article]J Clin Endocrinol Metab. 2026 Aug 19. [Online ahead of print]JC
- CONCLUSIONS: Menopause was not associated with clinically meaningful changes in thyroid function beyond aging. Age-related factors, rather than the menopausal transition, may largely explain increasing thyroid abnormalities in midlife women.

- The complex relationship between endocrine and psychiatric disorders: an epidemiological study of risk estimates. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: The study demonstrates that psychiatric comorbidities are common among patients with endocrine disorders, underscoring a meaningful relationship between endocrine dysfunction and mental health. Because the study was cross-sectional and based on clinical records, causal interpretation is not possible. The findings support the need for integrated endocrine and psychiatric assessment in patients with selected endocrine disorders.

- Differential analysis of gut microbiota and metabolites in patients with Graves' disease and combined Helicobacter pylori infection. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Significant differences were identified in both gut microbiota composition and metabolites between the GD group and the control group. Alterations in the gut microbiota are potentially linked to GD pathogenesis via modulation of tryptophan metabolic pathway. Significant differences in both gut microbiota composition and metabolites were identified between the H. pylori (+) subgroup and the H. pylori (-) subgroup within the GD group.
