- Mapping family involvement in music therapy for children and adolescents with cancer: a scoping review. [Journal Article]
- Children and adolescents undergoing cancer treatment, along with their families, experience psychological and emotional distress. Music therapy is increasingly acknowledged as an intervention that may foster emotion regulation, coping, and communication; however, family involvement remains insufficiently delineated. This scoping review maps evidence on family involvement in music therapy for paed…

- Sit-to-stand and stand-to-sit transitions stimulate cardiac autonomic regulation and lead to age-dependent short-term patterns in heart rate. [Journal Article]Front Physiol. 2026; 17:1733672.FP
- CONCLUSIONS: Standing up from a chair and sitting down each briefly stimulate cardiac autonomic regulation. The transition process partially slows down and becomes less pronounced with increasing age. Increasing the daily amount of standing up contributes to cardiac autonomic regulation flexibility and helps mitigating cardiovascular risks from sedentary behaviors.

- Interaction-focused music therapy with cancer-affected children and their significant others: a randomized controlled feasibility study with subsequent intervention (INMUT). [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: This study will provide insights into the feasibility of INMUT and the final sample needed for a confirmatory RCT. We will reflect on successfully implemented study procedures and, if necessary, provide recommendations for changes considering the design, procedures, measures, and statistical analyses. The discussion will conclude with an evaluation whether a confirmatory RCT is worth the investment of future resources, including the calculated number of child-significant other dyads needed based on the efficacy trends derived from this feasibility study.

- Suppression PCR-Based Selective Enrichment Sequencing for Pathogen and Antimicrobial Resistance Detection on Cell-Free DNA in Sepsis-A Targeted, Blood Culture-Independent Approach for Rapid Pathogen and Resistance Diagnostics in Septic Patients. [Journal Article]
- Sepsis is a life-threatening syndrome triggered by infection and accompanied by high mortality, with antimicrobial resistances (AMRs) further escalating clinical challenges. The rapid and reliable detection of causative pathogens and AMRs are key factors for fast and appropriate treatment, in order to improve outcomes in septic patients. However, current sepsis diagnostics based on blood culture …

- Biennial Endoscopic Surveillance of Gastrointestinal Metaplasia and Its Subtypes Reduces Gastric Cancer Mortality and Is Cost-Effective in a Markov State Transition Model. [Journal Article]South Med J. 2023 Dec; 116(12):951-956.SM
- CONCLUSIONS: Biennial endoscopy surveillance should be considered in all individuals found to have mixed or incomplete noncardia GIM on endoscopy. Furthermore, screening specifically for iGIM after differentiating between the two groups can lead to further cost savings. As such, we recommend that pathologists routinely differentiate between the two and recommend robust routine surveillance of iGIM.

- Polyvalent Human Immune Globulin: A Prospective, Open-Label Study Assessing Anti-Hepatitis A Virus (HAV) Antibody Levels, Pharmacokinetics, and Safety in HAV-Seronegative Healthy Subjects. [Clinical Trial, Phase I]
- CONCLUSIONS: A single 0.2 ml/kg dose of IGIM provided protective anti-HAV levels for at least 60 days, with acceptable safety and tolerability profiles in healthy subjects. Uncorrected and baseline-corrected pharmacokinetic findings were similar and consistent with the corresponding sampling points in previous research.

- Adverse effects of human immunoglobulin therapy. [Review]
- Human immunoglobulin (IG) is used for IgG replacement therapy in primary and secondary immunodeficiency, for prevention and treatment of certain infections, and as an immunomodulatory agent for autoimmune and inflammatory disorders. IG has a wide spectrum of antibodies to microbial and human antigens. Several high-titered IGs are also available enriched in antibodies to specific viruses or bacter…

- This report is a compendium of all current recommendations for the prevention of measles, rubella, congenital rubella syndrome (CRS), and mumps. The report presents the recent revisions adopted by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) on October 24, 2012, and also summarizes all existing ACIP recommendations that have been published previously during 1998-2011 (CDC. - Preparation and use of therapeutic antibodies primarily of human origin. [Review]
- Therapeutic antibodies include polyclonal immunoglobulins isolated from regular or high-titered human plasma, sera from immunized animals, and monoclonal antibodies. This array of therapeutic antibodies is used for the prevention and treatment of many infectious diseases, antibody immunodeficiencies, autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, neurological disorders, and cancers. Polyclonal human immun…

- Viral inactivation of intramuscular immune serum globulins. [Journal Article]
- A new process for the production of intramuscular immunoglobulin products is described which includes viral inactivation through solvent-detergent treatment. Removal of solvent-detergent was accomplished by precipitation, filtration and diafiltration. Process-scale preparations had appropriate antibody potency levels, and improved IgG integrity relative to traditional IGIM products. Moreover, acc…

- The epidemiology of virus transmission by plasma derivatives: clinical studies verifying the lack of transmission of hepatitis B and C viruses and HIV type 1. [Review]
- During the past 50 years, most US-licensed plasma derivatives have maintained an impressive record of not transmitting HBV, HCV, or HIV Albumin (50-year history) has never transmitted these viruses. PPF (40-year history) transmitted HBV on only one occasion, which was associated with a design flaw in one manufacturing plant. IGIM has never transmitted any of these viruses since the requirement of…
